Backstage Note on WWE Plans for Royce Keys and New WWE Heel Group

WWE may be considering a WarGames match involving Royce Keys, Bronco Nima, and Lucien Price following their debut and attack on Raw. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the August 24 segment appears to be setting up a possible WarGames direction.

Keys teamed with former NXT tag team OTM, consisting of Nima and Price, during their main roster debut. The three men attacked The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight during their scheduled match.

The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter compared the debut of the heel group with the debuts of The Nexus and The Shield. Both were introduced as new forces that immediately entered prominent storylines. Dave Meltzer also believes that this could all lead to a “possible War Games match.”

The report also noted that the pairing of Royce Keys and OTM had been discussed internally for “about a month back.” Previous plans reportedly called for OTM to separate. WWE’s Vice President of Content and Development, Jeremy Borash, had also considered Nima to be in Los Perros Del Mal in AAA, and they had started a story in NXT to break Nima & Price up.

Those plans were later dropped, while AAA storylines began writing Nima out of the faction. Nima and Price instead moved to WWE’s main roster together as OTM. They then aligned with Keys during their first appearance on Raw.
