Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Reveals First Gameplay in New Trailer

Bethesda Softworks revealed the first gameplay footage for the highly anticipated Indiana Jones video game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This marks the first console-based Indiana Jones video game for the franchise in over 15 years since LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues, which was first released in 2009. The trailer was revealed earlier today during the Xbox Developer_Direct.
The upcoming game is being executive produced by Todd Howard and developed by MachineGames, the developers behind Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. The game is being made in partnership with Lucasfilm Games. The narrative will be set in-between the events of 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and it will be set in 1937.
Players will be able to step into the role of Indiana Jones in a single-player, narrative-driven journey and hop the globe at the height of Indiana Jones’ career as they seek to uncover the answer of one of history’s greatest mysteries with the Great Circle.
The new gameplay footage reveals that the gameplay will be in first-person, with Indy being able to use his iconic whip to distract, disarm, and attack enemies. He’ll also be able to use it to swing and traverse over environments. Per Bethesda, the game will feature a mix between narrative-driven gaming and open-area maps, which sounds similar to Uncharted 4. The gameplay will also feature elements of stealth infiltration, melee combat, first-person shooting, fighting, and puzzle-solving.
Besides Indiana Jones, the game will also feature an appearance by Marcus Brody (portrayed by Denholm Elliott in the live-action films). While Indy features the likeness of a younger Harrison Ford from this particular time period, he will be voiced in the game by Troy Baker (Best known as Joel Miller from The Last of Us games), as first reported by Entertainment Weekly. Actor Tony Todd, who most recently voiced Venom in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 video game. also looks to be playing a character in the name Locus.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is due out later this year. The game is in development for Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. It will also be available through Game Pass.
