SDCC: Funko Announces Action Platform Game in the Works With 10:10 Games

During the closing day of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), pop culture and lifestyle brand Funko announced that the company is entering the video game market. Funko is partnering with 10:10 games to create a new AAA action platformer video game that’s in the works for a 2023 release.

The new game project is being led by game developer and five-time BAFTA award winner Jon Burton. Per Funko, 10:10 games is gathering top industry creators to help develop the project, who have previously worked on such titles as LEGO Star Wars and more.

Funko CEO Andrew Perlmutter said on the announcement via a press release, “Creating iconic products that emotionally connect fans to their favorite fandoms is critical to each product portfolio decision.” He continued, “By partnering with 10:10 Games and utilizing the best creators in the business, we will have the talent to deliver games that reflect Funko’s unique look and feel across its lines and varied products.”

10:10 Games Design Director Arthur Parsons added, “Funko is an iconic brand that truly understands the ingredients it takes to develop a world-class video game. 10:10 Games is thrilled to bring to life a new experience for their fans and video gamers alike.”

Under their new partnership, Funko and 10:10 Games will develop AAA game content for current and next-gen game consoles, along with PC for the currently untitled game release. During the SDCC Funko panel, the executive team noted that the upcoming game will feature major third-party studio integration. It’s also expected to have a T for Teen rating.
