Dana White isn’t worried about Deiveson Figueiredo’s status for his title fight at UFC on ESPN+ 30, saying he has a backup if that bout falls through. White spoke at the UFC 251 press conference and was asked about Figueiredo testing positive for COVID-19 two months ago.

Figueiredo’s team told Ariel Helwani on Saturday that the fighter tested negative in a follow-up test, but there is no word on whether the UFC has cleared him. White said that if Figueiredo is out, Alexandre Pantoja is capable of stepping in. Pantoja is currently set to face Askar Askarov on the show.

“We specifically had [Pantjoa] on the card just in case anything happened,” White said (per Fansided). “We were more concerned with [the] weight cut. But, yeah, that’s how I see that playing out.”

Asked about whether Figueiredo told UFC officials about the positive test, White said, “I don’t know how that whole thing … I doubt [he told the UFC] or we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. As we continue in this thing, we’re going to have all kinds of weird stuff happen that hasn’t happened before. This one’s popping up now — Did he have it? Does he have the antibody? I don’t know. I let smarter people than me figure that stupid s**t out. I’m not trying to be a COVID-19 expert. We’ve got Dr. D and a lot of other people working on that. We’re going to figure it out.”

UFC on ESPN+ 30 takes place next Saturday from UFC Fight Island.
