Derrick Lewis Says He’ll Finish Gabriel Gonzaga in Round One

Derrick Lewis spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC Fight Night 86. Some highlights are below:

On his plan for the fight: “I believe everything is clicking. I’ve got a lot more confidence coming into this fight, and I believe I’ll finish him in the first round.”

On taking the fight with Gonzaga rather than waiting to face Roy Nelson: “I just wanted to fight. I just hate waiting. I feel like it was a good opportunity to hop on in and get Gonzaga.”

On a future fight with Nelson: “I told him to hold on. Hopefully we get it in July, so we’ll see.”
