UFC lightweight fighter Edson Barboza spoke to reporters in a media scrum (via MMAjunkie) after his win over Dan Hooker in the co-main event at UFC on FOX 31. Barboza beat Hooker by knockout in the third round of the bout. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Barboza on having fun fights: “Every time I step in the octagon, you guys know it’s going to be a fun fight. Tonight’s no different. I give my best, and I hope you guys enjoy like always.”

Barboza on being happy for the win: “I’m very happy. I worked so hard for this fight. A lot of things happened in my life the last couple months, and I kept doing the right thing for my life. I’m very happy.”

His thoughts on the fight and Dan Hooker: “I’m not worried. I trained for 15 minutes of war. I was hurting him for 15 minutes. Thank God he went down with that body shot (in Round 3). … I hope he recovers fast, comes back. He’s a young guy. This happened with me a couple of times. This is part of the job. I pray for him. God bless him. I hope he comes back strong.”
