MMA Junkie reports that Georgi Karakhanyan (25-6-1 MMA, 4-4 BMMA) has signed a new four-fight deal with Bellator, which includes a signing bonus after his knockout win over Bubba Jenkins (11-3 MMA, 8-3 BMMA). After his signing, he said that he hopes to fight Josh Thomson at lightweight at Bellator 165. He trains in Millenia MMA in California with Saad Awad and Lorenz Larkin.

He said: “I think that would be a good matchup.

Bellator 165 happens on November 19 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Thomson is currently on a two-fight win streak. Karakhanyan said that his first two fights are at lightweight and most of his training partners regular. He said if he couldn’t fight Thomson he would also take on featherweight fights, where he has a 4-4 record. However, he has recent decision losses to Daniel Weichel and Pat Curran.

He added: “I went to Bellator because I have unfinished business. I am there to go for that belt.
