Speaking to Bleacher Report, former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre (GSP) shared his thoughts on who he thinks is currently the best pound-for-pound fighter in MMA. According to GSP, current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is the pound-for-pound best in the world.

GSP stated on Usman, “I think Usman, right now, is the best pound-for-pound. In terms of performance, I think he’s one of the best right now and he’s an active competitor.”

The former UFC champion continued on other fighters he likes to watch, “I like to watch [Israel] Adesanya as well, Francis Ngannou, Ciryl Gane. I like [Alexander] Volkanovski—all of the champions.” GSP also had high praise for new flyweight champion Brandon Moreno. He stated, “If we’re talking about who’s the greatest, I think (Brandon) Moreno is pretty amazing. The way he beat (Deiveson) Figueiredo, that was amazing. It was an amazing performance – as good as it gets.”

Since winning the title in 2019, Usman has defended the belt four times. He’s unbeaten in the Octagon at 14-0. His pro MMA record stands at 19-1.

The UFC Pound for Pound rankings currently have Jon Jones at No. 1, and Kamaru Usman is ranked No. 2.
