Kamaru Usman Says He Needed to Make a Statement at UFC Fight Night 116

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum after his win at UFC Fight Night 116 (via MMAjunkie), UFC fighter Kamaru Usman discussed his impressive knockout win from the event. Usman knocked out Sergio Moraes during the show to get his sixth win inside the UFC. Below are some highlights.

Usman on his ranking at No. 13 in the division: “You had me at 13th; are you kidding me? I am a problem in the division. There is not one guy that wants to take this fight – not one. How many people do you know calling me out? There’s not one guy who wants this fight.”

Usman on making a statement with a fight: “Tonight, I needed to make a statement. I needed to put a stamp on this division and let them know that there’s not one guy who can hang in there with me.”
