Marcin Held Discusses Earning His First UFC Win

October 22, 2017 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scrum at UFC Fight Night 118 (via MMAjunkie), Marcin Held discussed picking up a decision win over Nasrat Haqparast at the event, which was held yesterday in Gdansk, Poland. This marked Held’s first UFC win after going on a 3-0 losing streak. Below are some highlights from the scrum.

Held on getting a UFC win: “I’m really happy. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time. … It was huge pressure. I was trying not to think about it. But somewhere in the back of my head the pressure was really big. I hope into the next fight I will go with (less) pressure. It will be even easier.”

Held on the travel for fight cards: “Before, it didn’t matter for me. But now I see how much easier it is. I have everything here. I know everything here. It’s much easier to communicate, to go somewhere.”

Held on what he wants for his next fight: “I really would like to take revenge with someone I’d lost to. Joe Lauzon, Diego Sanchez or Damir Hadzovic. I would like to fight them one more time to show that I was really unhappy, and I would like to show that I deserve to be here, and I’m a better fighter than them.”
