Marlos Coenen Was Shocked That Bellator Was Going to Have a Title Fight on The Prelims

– Marlos Coenen recently spoke with mmafighting.com, here are the highlights…

On Her Bellator 155 Title Bout Originally Being Scheduled for The Prelims: “It was a big shock to me. I know it wasn’t [Bellator president] Scott [Coker], because when I was in Strikeforce I was always co-main event. I was like, ‘What’s going on? What’s happening?’ I don’t know who did it,” Coenen said. “Even from a business point of view, women in MMA are so popular. If you have women on the roster, I would put them on the main card.”

On Being on The Main Card: “Basically, they’re my boss, so I have to do whatever they want me to do,” Coenen said. “If they want to keep me on the prelims, if they want to put me on the first fight when nobody is in the venue, I’ll still be fighting. I don’t care. It’s for the fight for me. But if you can choose where to fight, especially sponsor wise, it’s better to be on the main card.”
