Nate Diaz’s recent post saying “peace out” to MMA was not a retirement statement, according to the fighter. Nate Diaz sparked discussion that he was hanging up the gloves last week when he posted to social media saying, “I’m goin on out on tour. Peace out fight game.” However, the Diaz denies that was about retiring.

“Who said I was retired? I’ll fight tonight,” Nate Diaz said in a statement to ESPN when asked to clarify.

Diaz lost to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 after the doctor overseeing the fight ruled that he couldn’t continue due to a nasty cut. And while Diaz is none too happy that a rematch doesn’t seem to be in the cards, he isn’t giving up on his career.

“I’ll fight forever,” he added. “I’m never going to retire, that’s for sure.”
