Rashad Evans Not Cleared to Fight at UFC 206

November 21, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy was already removed from UFC 205, but now it looks like it won’t happen at UFC 206 either. Evans’ manager Ali Abdelaziz and Kennedy have both confirmed (via MMAjunkie) that Evans has not been cleared to face Kennedy at UFC 206.

Abdelaziz said that he believed the Ontario Athletic Commission followed the decision of the New York State Athletic Commission to not license him, which was done after reviewing his medical paperwork. Abdelaziz said that Evans will be undergoing more screening with a neurologist to prove he can fight, with a return planned for January or February. He added, “Rashad will be fine.” A replacement opponent is being sought for Kennedy.

UFC 206 takes place at Air Canada Centre in Toronto on December 10th with a PPV main card and prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
