Lightweight Tae Hyun Bang is facing an indictment for allegedly taking a bribe relating to his fight with Leo Kuntz at UFC Fight Night 79. The Korea Herald reports that Bang has been indicted in South Korea on charges that he was part of a a match-fixing scam, as announced by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office.

Bang was indicted alongside several other brokers of the fixing attempt, which include MMA fighter Dae Won Kim. The site says that Bang is no longer with the UFC although MMAjunkie reports that he is still on the UFC’s website and officials from the company have yet to respond to a request for comment.

According to the indictment, Bang agreed to lose to Kuntz at the event, which took place in Seoul. However, Bang apparently changed his mind after he was warned by UFC officials when gambling sites showed a sudden shift in betting patterns. He defeated Kuntz via split decision.

Bang reportedly accepted a bribe of just under $88,000 and bet about $43,000 on Kuntz. MMAjunkie reports that he then allegedly received death threats from people involved in organized crime, who had bet approximately $1.7 million on Kuntz.
