UFC 221 Luke Rockhold Yoel Romero - Tai Tuivasa

MMAjunkie recently spoke to UFC fighter Tai Tuivasa ahead of his UFC 221 bout with Cyril Asker, which is set for later today. The fight will take place on the main pay-per-view card for the event in Perth, Australia. Below are some highlights.

Tuivasa on his plan for the fight: “I’m going to try to keep it bare minimum. Get in there, get out of there. As soon as I get it done, then I’m off to the bar.”

Tuivasa on how he’s taking his fights as they come: “Of course (the title is) in my mind, but at the moment I only have one fight. Everyone is on me saying, ‘You should fight these guys.’ Right now I just want to keep fighting the best guys and sooner or later I will be up there. But for now I’m just taking the fights as they come, and I want to get paid. I have a family I have to look after. Right now, I’m just going to knock the first few guys out that I’m up against and at the end of this year I’m going to be knocking on the door for the top-15, top-10 guys.”

Tai Tuivasa on what can happen in the fight: “For me, as long as I’m fit and I feel good and I’m on point, then I’m sweet. We’re going in there to punch on. Anything can happen.”
