UFC on ESPN 7 Weigh-In Results: Cynthia Calvillo Fails to Make Weight

The UFC fighters weighed in yesterday for today’s ESPN card in Washington, DC. Two fighters failed to make weight for their scheduled bouts. Cynthia Calvillo (120.5 pounds) failed to make weight for her scheduled co-main event bout against Marina Rodriguez (115.5 pounds).

Calvillo was several pounds over the strawweight limit of 116 pounds. Matt Syles (148.5 pounds) also missed weight for his scheduled featherweight bout with Bryce Mitchell (145.2 pounds). Sayles will forfeit now 20% of his purse to his opponent, and the fight will move forward as planned.

This is not the first time Cynthia Calvillo has missed weight. She missed the mark at UFC Fight Night 140 for her fight against Poliana Botelho. She won that fight via submission. For this fight, Calvillo will be fined 30 percent of her purse, and the fight will move forward.

Headlining fighters Alistair Overeem (248 pounds) and Jairzinho Rozenstruik (250.5 pounds) both came in on weight. The fight card will be held later today at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. The fight card will be broadcast live on ESPN. Prelims will be shown on ESPN+ and ESPN.
