Hello everyone, welcome to 411mania’s LIVE coverage of UFC on ESPN+ 47. I’m Robert Winfree and I’ll be your host for the evening. On the heels of a rare weekend off the UFC is back in action with a terribly uninspired card. The main event could be a relevant heavyweight bout as Jairzinho Rozenstruik looks to redeem himself after a dismal outing against Ciryl Gane by taking on Augusto Sakai who was finished by Alistair Overeem in his last fight. If that’s not enough heavyweight goodness for you, the co-main event sees Walt Harris try to halt his current skid against the surprisingly resurgent Marcin Tybura. The only other fight on the main card of note is former contender Santiago Ponzinibbio taking on rising prospect Miguel Baeza, a big step up for Baeza and something of a must win for Ponzinibbio if he wants to return to ranked contender status. On the prelims Muslim Salikhov and Francisco Trinaldo has some potential, and the 6’2 featherweight Sean Woodson is back to take on Youssef Zalal in a fight that could be a bit of a strikers delight. As for the rest of the card, we’re mostly hoping for it to deliver in practice where it’s a bit lacking on paper.

UFC on ESPN+ 47 comes to the world from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. On commentary we have Brendan Fitzgerald, Dominick Cruz, and Michael Bisping. As for the rules we’re mostly under the newer set except for the downed fighter rule so you still only need one hand on the mat to be considered downed. Nevada does have the use of instant replay and a replay official outside of the cage who can indicate a pause in the action to get something reviewed, and the fight can be restarted after instant replay if that’s applicable. Lastly keep in mind that we’re in the smaller 25 foot diameter cage.

Claudio Puelles has gone 2-1 in the UFC and brings a two fight winning streak into this fight, but he’s been out of action for almost 2 years and now has to pick back up where he left off on the winning side of things. Jordan Leavitt is undefeated with a memorable win in his UFC debut when he won via slam knockout. Leavitt is trying to remain undefeated and prove himself a prospect that you should be watching. The odds are with Leavitt at -210 against +175 on Puelles.

Lightweight Bout: Jordan Leavitt (8-0, 156 lbs.) vs. Claudio Puelles (9-2, 155 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Puelles has an inch of height and reach over Leavitt. They touch gloves, both men fighting southpaw. Leavitt lands a couple of leg kicks, mostly aimed at the calf. Bit of a body kick from Puelles, Leavitt kicks his leg again in reply. Single leg from Leavitt, they scramble a bit and wind up on the fence. Leavitt is still after this takedown, another single leg but this time he rolls into side control. Puelles back up right away but still clinched with Leavitt chasing this single leg. Leavitt gets the single leg and Puelles gets full guard. Elbow from Leavitt, Puelles wall walks but is still clinched. Outside trip from Leavitt and he gets Puelles down against the fence again. Puelles wall walks but he can’t get free. Puelles finally gets free and they trade body kicks. More calf kicks from Leavitt, Puelles with a double leg but Leavitt moves to a front headlock, they scramble and Leavitt winds up on bottom working a high guard. Some blows from the bottom from Leavitt, he’s threatening a triangle choke. A few hammer fists from Leavitt to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Leavitt

ROUND TWO: Bit of a left from Puelles, they clinch and Leavitt lands an elbow as they break. Leavitt lands a leg kick. Leavitt checks a leg kick, tries a single leg and gets it briefly but Puelles spins to the ride position. One hook in for Puelles, Leavitt spins free and gets after a leg lock. Leavitt can’t get any control on the leg entanglement and Puelles gets on top then moves to half guard. Full guard now for Leavitt, tries for an omoplata, uses that to switch to a leg attack but Puelles is able to stall that and retain top position. Up kick from Leavitt, Puelles stands and lands a punch then moves to the ride position again. Leavitt keeps trying a roll in this spot but there’s no force behind it and Puelles is stuffing him. Some punches from Puelles, he’s trying to get his hooks in but can only get one. Puelles moves to a body triangle and locks it up. The round ends in that spot.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Puelles, 19-19 overall

ROUND THREE: They touch gloves for the last round. Leavitt working the jab, Puelles gets a single leg and spins things to the mat. half guard for Puelles. Leavitt lands some punches from his back, Puelles moves to side control. Leavitt tries to sweep again, he’s able to get full guard but can’t get Puelles onto his back. Some punches from Puelles land. Leavitt tries to invert off the fence, Puelles moves to side control off of that motion. Leavitt grabs a triangle position, but he’s not really got the arm or control and Puelles moves to north-south. Puelles lands some body shots. The ref actually stands them up, I’m a little surprised. They throw some awkward strikes, then Puelles hits a single leg into full guard. Both men land punches, Puelles stands and punches the body a few times. Some elbows go back and forth as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Puelles, 29-28 Puelles overall

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Claudio Puelles via unanimous decision (29-28 x3)

Some fun scrambles in the first round, but that thing ground to a real slow pace as it went on. No interview for Puelles, which is probably for the best since we’ve got 14 fights total tonight.

Sean Woodson has gone 1-1 in the UFC, he’s coming off of his first professional loss though and is trying to rebound with a win here to avoid his first ever losing streak. Youssef Zalal has gone 3-2 in the UFC but he’s on a two fight losing streak and needs a win here just to keep his UFC record above the .500 mark. Woodson is the favorite at -160 to +135 for Zalal.

Featherweight Bout: Sean Woodson (7-1, 145 lbs.) vs. Youssef Zalal (10-4, 146 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Woodson is four and a half inches taller and has six inches of reach advantage. Quick jab from Woodson has Zalal backing up right away. Zalal lands a few calf kicks while circling. Some stance switching from Woodson. They trade leg kicks. Zalal eats a few jabs but he’s working the kicks to try and minimize the length disparity. Woodson with a bit of a left hook. Zalal tries a double leg against the fence, they wind up clinched there. They break free, and Woodson lands a body kick. Left from Woodson wobbles Zalal just a bit. Zalal avoids a high kick. Body kick from Woodson, Zalal lands a calf kick. Bit of a left from Zalal. Zalal gets another clinch on the fence, but can’t get Woodson to the mat. Some knees from Woodson in the clinch, then he misses a head kick as they break. Zalal in on a double leg this time, but again they hit the fence. Zalal does get the takedown eventually this time, Woodson wall walks as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Woodson

ROUND TWO: Woodson lands a leg kick. Left to the body from Zalal then a leg kick of his own. A lot of feints from Woodson, he lands a few punches in close. Zalal tries a takedown, they hit the fence again. Bisping erroneously believes we’re in the third round. Elbow from Zalal as they break. Another takedown attempt from Zalal, but again they stall out on the fence. They break with another glancing elbow from Zalal. Woodson lands a body kick. They clinch up again and hit the fence, but Woodson’s in control of this one. Bit of a left from Woodson as they break. Woodson lands a right. More calf kicks go back and forth. A right from Woodson seems to unsettle Zalal for a moment. Left uppercut from Woodson as Zalal gets a clinch on the fence again. Woodson drops for a guillotine, it’s arm in but there’s not enough time left for it to really develop one way or the other.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Woodson, 20-18 Woodson overall

ROUND THREE: Both men come out swinging. Zalal lands a bit of a right, one two from Woodson then they clinch again. Woodson gets a body lock and spins free. A couple of punches land for Zalal. Double leg attempt from Zalal stalls on the fence. Woodson is still defending well, Zalal can’t find a takedown. Bit of an elbow from Woodson, then he spins free. Knee from Woodson while Zalal is on his bike circling. Zalal tries a takedown, and again they stall on the fence. Woodson is finding short elbows here as Zalal keeps trying for the takedown. Some knees to the body from Woodson. Zalal tries to switch to a single leg, Woodson gets away from it and they break. They trade lefts, Woodson grabs a guillotine as Zalal tries a knee tap and uses that to sweep into an awkward mount holding the choke. Woodson doesn’t really have a sub attempt here, and Zalal gets free then tries to get the back but Woodson rolls through and stands free. Back up on the feet both men miss punches as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Woodson, 30-27 Woodson overall

Zalal did nothing with his clinches down the stretch, I was probably incorrect to give Woodson the first but after that Woodson did things that mattered while Zalal didn’t.

Manon Fiorot has a six fight winning streak going which includes an impressive UFC debut, she’s trying to extend that streak here and start making her way towards the top of the flyweight division. Tabatha Ricci is undefeated but took this fight on just about 24 hours notice, she’s got a chance to spring a major upset given the situation. Fiorot is a prohibitive favorite at -575 while a Ricci win would pay out at +425.

Women’s Flyweight Bout: Manon Fiorot (6-1, 125.5 lbs.) vs. Tabatha Ricci (5-0, 124.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Fiorot is six inches taller and has four inches of reach, Ricci seems to normally fight at least one weight class lower based on her frame. Southpaw for Fiorot, she lands a side kick to the body. Body kicks from Fiorot, she’s keeping Ricci backing up. Bit of a head kick from Fiorot. Some jabs from Fiorot, she’s fighting long so far. Fiorot lands an inside leg kick. Ricci tries a takedown, nothing doing though. Fiorot lands a body kick, then a head kick behind it. They trade rights. Knee from Fiorot in close. Fiorot lands a right. Bit of a right from Ricci. One two from Fiorot. Another one two from Fiorot. A left from Fiorot closes the round.

SCORECARD: 10-8 Fiorot but a marginal one

ROUND TWO: Fiorot pushing forward with strikes again. They clinch, Fiorot lands some knees to the thigh then breaks. A couple of rights land for Fiorot. Leg kick, then a couple more punches from Fiorot. Flurry from Fiorot. Ricci is backing up a lot, but she’s starting to slip some punches. Elbows from Fiorot in close. Ricci catches a kick, but Fiorot turns into a buzzsaw and she separates. A right from Fiorot drops Ricci, Ricci fights back up but she ate a lot of shots on the way into the clinch. Ricci is bleeding from the nose, one final flurry from Fiorot gets the standing TKO.

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Manon Fiorot via TKO, punches, at 3:00 of Round 2

That was one way traffic from start to finish. Mic time for Fiorot, she’s got a translator since she speaks French. Her translator isn’t really audible between his mask and the mic position. She does want to fight again soon, and I think mentioned wanting to show her grappling skills that are growing.

This is a nice combination from Fiorot to drop Ricci, and from there she just unloads until the ref has to save Ricci.

Alan Patrick used to be a notable prospect in the UFC, but that was several years ago at this point and he’s currently on a two fight losing streak. If Patrick wants to regain some semblance of momentum he’s in a must win situation. Mason Jones was undefeated before his UFC debut when he lost to Mike Davis, he’s trying to bounce back from that loss and avoid his first ever losing streak. The odds are fairly heavily with Jones at -340 while the +270 comeback on Patrick might tempt a few bettors.

Lightweight Bout: Mason Jones (10-1, 156 lbs.) vs. Alan Patrick (15-3, 154.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Patrick is an inch taller but the reach is identical, though Patrick is also a full 11 years older. Southpaw for Patrick, and they touch gloves. Jones pushing forward, they trade punches then Patrick lands a knee. Patrick misses a spinning back fist. Body kick from Jones. Head kick from Patrick is partially blocked. They clinch up, trade body work along the fence then Jones lands an elbow. Patrick is bleeding around the left eye. Jones is staying patient with his offense, lands a few jabs. Patrick lands a clubbing left but misses a spinning back fist. Right then a left from Jones stumbles Patrick. Jones is walking Patrick down now, misses a head kick. Patrick misses a spinning back fist and slips, Jones gets on top in full guard. Some hard elbows from Jones, Patrick fights up along the fence but gets taken down again into half guard. Some hard punches and elbows from Jones. Jones stands over Patrick and unloads, Patrick wall walks, and they swing then clinch up as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Jones

ROUND TWO: Jones avoids a takedown and they clinch up on the fence. Inside trip from Jones into full guard. Patrick tries to invert for a leg, but Jones tracks his motion and retains full guard. More elbows from Jones, with some body shots sprinkled in. Patrick wall walks but he’s still clinched. They break, Jones avoids a spinning back fist and cracks him with a right. We get time as there was an eye poke apparently to Patrick. Replay confirms the eye poke. The doctor is in to check the eye of Patrick. Patrick tells the doctor he can’t see and we’re done.

That’s a shame, Jones was looking really good before that.

Makwan Amirkhani has gone 3-3 in his last six fights , he’s coming off of a loss to rising contender Edson Barboza and is trying to avoid his first ever losing streak with a win tonight. Kamuela Kirk took this fight on fairly short notice when Nate Landwher had to withdraw from the bout, but he’s on a two fight winning streak and will be trying to make good on his only chance for a first impression to most of the audience. Amirkhani is your favorite at -200 while the +170 payout for Kirk is a slightly tempting value bet.

Featherweight Bout: Makwan Amirkhani (16-5, 146 lbs.) vs. Kamuela Kirk (11-4, 146 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Kirk has three inches of reach advantage. Southpaw for Amirkhani. Kirk lands a left hook as Amirkhani tries a flying knee. Another left from Kirk as Amirkhani shows the jumping knee. Fairly sedate pace thus far, Kirk looks smooth and avoids a couple of takedown attempts. Bit of a right from Kirk. Kirk lands a right to the body. A few front kicks to the body from Kirk. Amirkhani tries a single leg, they hit the fence and clinch up. Amirkhani gets his hands together, hits an overhead throw but Kirk bounces right back up. Another takedown from Amirkhani, this time he gets some control on the mat. Kirk keeps trying to hit an angle with his hips but Amirkhani is tracking them and keeping him down. Kirk wall walks and they resume clinching. They break with a body shot from Amirkhani. Both men land rights. Amirkhani looks a little flat after that grappling. Amirkhani lands a left. Body kick from Amirkhani. Kirk lands a flush right hand, then a body kick to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Amirkhani but could go either way

ROUND TWO: Kirk comes out kicking to the leg and body. Bit of a right from Kirk, then a body shot. Another body shot from Kirk, Amirkhani is clearly slowing a bit. Kirk avoids a bad double leg attempt, and tries a flying knee that mostly misses. Right from Kirk lands. Amirkhani lands a left. Bit of an uppercut from Amirkhani. Amirkhani tries a double leg, Kirk sells out for a guillotine but uses that to attack a leg in transition. Kirk can’t find the heel hook, Amirkhani falls into his butterfly guard. Closed guard now for Kirk. Amirkhani is just kind of holding on in full guard. Triangle attempt from Kirk, he adjusts it a few times, switches to a triangle armbar but Amirkhani wont tap. Kirk extends the arm even more but loses the head control and Amirkhani stays in full guard. A bit of an elbow from Amirkhani to close the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Kirk, 19-19 overall

ROUND THREE: Amirkhani is taking some deep breaths. Kirk blocks a head kick. They trade rights. Kirk lands a calf kick. Amirkhani lands a left. Double leg from Amirkhani, Kirk threatens with a guillotine but can’t get it and just closes his guard. Another triangle attempt from Kirk, Amirkhani avoids it and gets a front headlock. Kirk tries to get around to the back, but can’t turn the corner and settles for a wall walk into a clinch. Mat return from Amirkhani, he’s in the ride position now. Kirk stops a mat return and gets on top in butterfly guard. Kuro-Kuro sweep attempt from Amirkhani, but Kirk uses that to pass to half guard. There’s about a minute left, Amirkhani is just holding on. Kirk with some body shots but he needs more than that. Kirk passes towards side control as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Amirkhani but who knows, 29-28 Amirkhani overall

I don’t object to Kirk winning, 30-27 feels odd but Amirkhani didn’t exactly seal any of the rounds. No interview for Kirk.

Francisco Trinaldo has been with the UFC since 2012 with all but his UFC debut taking place in the shark tank that is lightweight. Trinaldo has won his last three fights, but missed weight in his last one and is now trying his hand up at welterweight as his career starts winding down. Muslim Salikhov is on a four fight winning streak and coming off of his biggest win when he bested Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos. If Salikhov can take out a respected veteran like Trinaldo he’ll earn a shot at some ranked opposition next. The odds are with Salikhov at -230 while a Trinaldo win pays out at +190.

Welterweight Bout: Muslim Salikhov (17-2, 171 lbs.) vs. Francisco Trinaldo (26-7, 169.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Salikhov is two inches taller, the reach is identical, and Trinaldo is six years older at 42. Southpaw for Trinaldo. Both men feinting early, trying to get a read on things. Bit of a right from Salikhov. Trinaldo misses a left after taking a jab to the body. Salikhov with a spinning back kick to the kidney. They punch into a clinch, Trinaldo lands a knee and they break. Salikhov lands a heavy body kick. Bit of a head kick from Salikhov. Trianldo has a left blocked. They clinch, Salikhov lands a knee this time and they break. Salikhov lands a front kick to the body. Bit of a left from Trinaldo and a knee in close. Salikhov lands another body kick. Clubbing right from Salikhov, landed more with the forearm but that was hard. Salikhov lands a body kick, Trinaldo with a body punch. A few punches from Trinaldo, they clinch up and then break. Inside leg kick from Salikhov. Trinaldo lands a left. Salikhov lands a bit of a head kick. Trinaldo avoids a wheel kick. They trade lefts. A right uppercut from Salikhov drops Trinaldo, he gets on top and looks to unload damage. Trinaldo gets a leg entanglement as the round ends.

ROUND TWO: Trinaldo coming forward as the round starts, misses a few punches. Salikhov misses an uppercut. They clinch, trade body work, then break. Salikhov lands a body kick and right hand. Both men land rights in close. Inside leg kick from Salikhov, then a body kick behind it. Trinaldo lands a left. Salikhov lands a right in close. A right from Salikhov wobbles Trinaldo, but Trinaldo hangs tough and fires back. Short left from Salikhov lands, and they clinch up. Some knees are traded then Salikhov spins free. Salikhov lands a right. Trinaldo blocks a high kick. Body shots are traded and they clinch up. Salikhov spins free rather quickly. Trinaldo misses a combination and Salikhov lands a right. Body kick from Trinaldo. They clinch up, Salikhov trips Trinaldo down but lets him back up. Both men miss punches before the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Salikhov, 20-18 Salikhov overall

ROUND THREE: There’s an eye poke to Salikhov very early into the third round and we’ve got time. Replay confirms the poke and the doctor is in to check on him. That was a pretty bad poke, Salikhov is bleeding from around that eye. Salikhov can stand, that’s a positive sign, and he talks with the doctor, he wants to continue and we’re back to fighting after about 3 minutes. That eye is discoloring on Salikhov. Bit of a left from Trinaldo. Salikhov avoids a punch, and they clinch up. Salikhov lands an elbow as they break. Trinaldo has a head kick blocked. Salikhov lands a body kick and they clinch again. They break after a knee from Trinaldo. Salikhov lands a right in close but Trinaldo forces a clinch. Salikhov gets free and avoids a few punches. Trinaldo has another high kick partially blocked. Salikhov lands a right. Trinaldo slips landing a body kick, Salikhov stands over him for a bit landing some leg kicks before the ref resets them on the feet. Bit of a right from Salikhov, and a spinning kick that’s blocked. Trinaldo is still coming forward, walks into a body shot. Salikhov misses another wheel kick, but lands a right and Trinaldo lands a counter. Trinaldo lands a left to the body. Salikhov lands a body kick. Body kick from Trinaldo. They trade lefts. Bit of a right from Salikhov. A right from Salikhov staggers Trinaldo, then Salikhov gets a double leg into full guard. Both men land strikes on the mat as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Salikhov, 30-27 Salikhov overall

That was about as fun as expected, nice little scrap. No interview for Salikhov though.

Tanner Boser has gone 3-2 in the UFC and is coming off of a disappointing fight with Andrei Arlovski, he’s trying to avoid his first UFC losing streak tonight. Ilir Latifi is on a three fight losing streak including his return to heavyweight he lost in a pretty terrible fight against Derrick Lewis. Latifi has been out of action for over a year and could be fighting for his spot on the roster right now. The odds are with Boser at -175 to a +150 comeback for Latifi.

Heavyweight Bout: Tanner Boser (19-7-1, 242 lbs.) vs. Ilir Latifi (14-8 1 NC, 240 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Boser is four inches taller and has two inches of reach advantage. Boser feinting his way forward, Latifi standing fairly still. Latifi is switching his stance, every time he goes southpaw Boser is firing a body kick. Bit of a left from Latifi in close. Body kick and right from Boser, Latifi catches the kick and gets a takedown into full guard. Latifi moves to half guard. Latifi passes to side control. There’s a north-south choke option for Latifi, but Boser bridges up and escapes to his feet but they remain clinched. Bit of an elbow from Boser as they break. Both men miss rights. Boser lands a left hook. Latifi blocks a right to end the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Latifi but I wouldn’t object to Boser

ROUND TWO: Boser is back to circling, looking for an angle. They trade rights, Latifi seems like he got a little wobbled. Boser misses a right and avoids a clinch attempt. Body kick from Boser. Latifi lands a right uppercut. A few more body kicks from Boser. Boser lands a left in close. Latifi misses a leg kick, and takes a body kick in return. Latifi lands a right. Boser keeps feinting and Latifi is biting on most of them. They clash, Latifi acts like he got poked, Boser keeps punching him as the ref made no indication. Boser unloads in close, lands an elbow as Latifi gets free. Latifi gets a clinch to stall that momentum. Boser is able to get free and resumes walking Latifi down. Body kick from Boser, then a right hand. A body kick from Boser is the last relevant blow of the round.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Boser and there might be a 10-8 argument in there, 19-19 overall

ROUND THREE: We got a replay of the eye situation, it was a punch from Boser where his thumb in a closed fist went into the eye so it was totally legal. The doctor is in to check on Latifi, he can continue and we’re back to fighting. Boser is back to feinting the pants off of Latifi. Boser lands a left. Bit of a right from Latifi. Latifi gets a single leg and Boser is down but has full guard. Latifi moves to half guard and lands a few short punches. Boser hip escapes to full guard. Latifi is trying to work some body to head punches, but there’s not a lot on them. Latifi moves to half guard again. The round ends in that spot.

We get some breaking news, Tom Breese vs. Antonio Arroyo is off due to some medical issue with Breese. So as the prelims end, De La Rosa and Lipski will move to kick off the main card.

Montana De La Rosa has gone just 1-2-1 in her last four fights, with a loss and a draw in her last two fights. De La Rosa was kind of lucky to get the draw in her last fight, and given her somewhat lifeless outings lately she needs a win in a bad way. Ariane Lipski has gone 2-3 in the UFC, she’s coming off of a loss to Antonina Shevchenko and is trying to get her UFC record back to the .500 mark with a win tonight. De La Rosa is the favorite at -280 against +230 on Lipski.

Women’s Flyweight Bout: Montana De La Rosa (11-6-1, 126 lbs.) vs. Ariane Lipski (13-6, 124.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: De La Rosa has an inch of height and reach advantage. Both women feinting early, just getting a feel for things. Lipski lands a right to the body. De La Rosa lands a jab, and takes a counter right. Another right from Lipski, De La Rosa is swinging wide. Lipski lands a right to the body in close. Both women land rights. A couple of body shots from Lipski. De La Rosa gets a body lock, eventually uses that to get a takedown into half guard. Some knees to the body from De La Rosa. Lipski shrimps to full guard and closes it. Some Lipski elbows off of her back. There’s a small cut around the left eye of De La Rosa, she lands an elbow and Lipski is cut around the left eyebrow as well. Lipski tries to angle for an amrbar, nothing doing. De La Rosa lands a final elbow to close the round.

ROUND TWO: Lipski lands a right that wobbles De La Rosa, then an uppercut but De La Rosa gets a takedown into full guard to stop that momentum. Elbows from Lipski but she needs to get moving rather than hang out on bottom. Lipski scoots to the fence, De La Rosa lands some blows but Lipski gets a leg entanglement. De La Rosa uses that to get on top in side control. An elbow from De La Rosa, looks like Lipski is cut around the other eye now. De La Rosa lands short elbows. Lipski gets half guard back but she wasn’t able to even start a wall walk. Some elbows to the body from De La Rosa, now to the head as well. Short punches from De La Rosa and she moves to full mount. De La Rosa lands more elbows while scooting her mount up higher and higher. De La Rosa unloads until the ref stops things.

Mic time for De La Rosa after her first TKO finish ever, she mentions finally getting the win money will be nice. She talks us through the finish, thanks her team for all of their work as well. She wants to spend time with her daughter after this and be back in a few months.

Here’s a look at the finish, Lipski was out of her depth on the ground and once De La Rosa got full mount she just abused Lipski until the ref had no choice but to stop it.

Dusko Todorovic has gone 1-1 in the UFC, he’s coming off his first professional loss and is trying to bounce back and prove he’s still a viable prospect in the promotion. Gregory Rodrigues took this fight on short notice replacing Maki Pitolo but he’s on a two fight winning streak and could take out a fairly bright prospect by way of announcing his arrival in the UFC. The odds on this one are close but favor Todorovic at -135 to +115 for Rodrigues.

Middleweight Bout: Gregory Rodrigues (9-3, 186 lbs.) vs. Dusko Todorovic (10-1, 186 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Todorovic is three inches taller but Rodrigues has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get us going. Todorovic feinting forward early. Hard jab from Todorovic and they clinch up. They jockey for position along the fence, Rodrigues with a step over judo toss and they break apart. Rodrigues lads a stiff jab. One two from Todorovic. Bit of a left form Rodrigues. Todorovic tries a knee tap, can’t finish it and they clinch again. Rodrigues slips free and lands a couple of rights. Todorovic has a heck of a chin, he just ate a couple of hard punches. Bit of a left from Todorovic. Rodrigues lands a right in close. Leg kick from Rodrigues. Rodrigues lands a right. Todorovic lands a left in close, and avoids a few counters. They feint away the final seconds.

ROUND TWO: Todorovic opens up with a kick to the body. Bit of a right from Rodrigues, but Todorovic is really good about rolling with punches. Rodrigues lands a left to the body. A few rights from Rodrigues, and a left hook in close. They trade left hooks, then trade rights. Double leg from Rodrigues against the fence. Todorovic wall walks, and eats a knee to the head. Rodrigues keeps the back as they stand, then trade as they break the clinch. Todorovic lands a claf kick. Left hook from Todorovic and they clinch again. Both men work the body then separate. Both men land lefts. Rodrigues lands a body kick. Another excange of lefts, this time Rodrigues lands a right as well. They split some jabs. Bit of a right from Rodrigues. Todorovic lands a jab, and eats a leg kick as the round ends.

ROUND THREE: Both men working the lead hand as we start the last round. Todorovic lands a jumping knee and they clinch up again. Some body shots from Todorovic then they break. Rodrigues tries a double leg, this time Todorovic defends and stays free. Both men land rights. Rodrigues digs the body. One two from Rodrigues. They trade rights again. Rodrigues lands a left hook. Todorovic lands a jab. Bit of a right from Rodrigues. Todorovic lands a right hook in close. They trade rights again. Rodrigues blocks a head kick. More jabs from Todorovic as he circles, they trade in close. Another clinch, Todorovic digs the body several times and eats an elbow as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Rodrigues but the closest of the fight, 30-27 Rodrigues overall

OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Gregory Rodrigues via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27 x2)

That turned out to be a decent little slug fest. Mic time for Rodrigues, he says the fight means a lot and thanks God. He notes he fought two weeks ago but he’s a fighter and fighters should fight. He puts over Todorovic, noting they were supposed to fight about five years ago but it never quite came to be. The usual round of thanks follow, and he wants to keep learning step by step so his foundation is solid before he goes to the top.

Santiago Ponzinibbio just had a seven fight winning streak that dated back to 2015 snapped by Li Jingliang. Ponzinibbio is trying to avoid his first ever losing streak and remind everyone that he’s still a top welterweight. Miguel Baeza is undefeated including three wins in the UFC, this represents a significant step up in competition for him but if he wins it will easily be the biggest success of his career. This one closed very close, but favors Baeza at -140 to +120 for Ponzinibbio.

Welterweight Bout: Miguel Baeza (10-0, 171 lbs.) vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio (27-4, 170.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Baeza is two inches taller and has an inch and a half of reach advantage. They touch gloves to get us going. Both men circling, Baeza lands a front kick to the body. Ponzinibbio is pushing forward, lands a bit of a right. Some leg kicks from Baeza. Ponzinibbio is pushing forward looking to land punches. Both men land some jabs, Baeza lands a leg kick. Ponzinibbio trying to work the jab, but he’s doing a good job of putting Baeza on the back foot near the fence. Baeza with a few more calf kicks, those are starting to add up. Baeza lands a right uppercut in close. Another leg kick from Baeza. Ponzinibbio lands a few jabs, he’s forcing Baeza back again. Bit of a left hook from Ponzinibbio. Baeza lands a combination of punches. Another calf kick from Baeza. Inside calf kick from Baeza, those are really piling up. Some jabs go back and forth. Bit of a combination from Ponzinibbio, he lands a left hook along the fence as the round ends.

ROUND TWO: Baeza back to kicking the calf. Ponzinibbio lands a calf kick of his own. Bit of a right from Baeza. Some hard front kicks to the body from Baeza, then another calf kick. A right from Baeza wobbles Ponzinibbio. Another body shot from Baeza, he’s breaking Ponzinibbio down at every level. Ponzinibbio tries a takedown, Baeza defends. More leg kicks from Baeza, Ponzinibbio is cut under the left eye. Ponzinibbio lands a glancing right. They trade again, Baeza lands another calf kick. Ponzinibbio lands a hard calf kick. Another right from Baeza hurts Ponzinibbio. Stiff jab from Ponzinibbio. Hard combination from Ponzinibbio, Baeza lands a calf kick to stall the forward pressure. Ponzinibbio lands a combination, his jab is all over Baeza. Ponzinibbio lands a left hook and a calf kick. More pressure and power punches from Ponzinibbio. Stiff jab from Ponzinibbio. Baeza lands a couple of calf kicks. Bit of a front kick to the body from Baeza closes the round.

ROUND THREE: They touch gloves for the final round. Ponzinibbio back to jabbing his way forward. Baeza lands a couple of calf kicks. Both men jabbing again, Baeza lands a calf kick. Baeza lands a right hand. A series of jabs from Ponzinibbio as he pushes forward. Ponzinibbio lands a couple of leg kicks. Baeza lands a leg kick of his own then a front kick to the body. Both men land jabs. Baeza lands a right. Bit of a left from Ponzinibbio. Baeza lands a right to the body. Ponzinibbio lands a calf kick. Combination from Ponzinibbio hurts Baeza, he’s pouring on the offense now. Both men land rights, Baeza backs Ponzinibbio off with a right hand. Ponzinibbio lands a jab, then a couple of hard calf kicks. Baeza lands a calf kick and takes a counter right. Ponzinibbo lands a right. Left hook from Ponzinibbio. Baeza lands an uppercut but eats a counter combination. A right from Baeza lands. More jabs from Ponzinibbio, then a left hook. These two just will not fall as they go full on RoadHouse for the final 30 seconds or so.

Surprised that wasn’t split, Baeza visibly hurt Ponzinibbio in the first half of the second round. Mic time for Ponzinibbio, he mentions how long he was out of action and how he lost on a one punch that he didn’t feel was representative of his skills. He mentions the leg kicks hurt, but he dealt with a ton of medical issues coming back to fighting and you’ll have to kill him to get him out of here. He knows he can fight with the best in the world, he’s hopeful that this gets him back into the top rankings and he can start moving to the belt again.

Roman Dolidze is coming off of his first professional loss when he moved down to middleweight for the first time, he’s hoping his second time in the weight class goes a little better and that he can reclaim a bit of his hype going forward. Laureano Staropoli has gone 2-2 in the UFC, but he’s on a two fight winning streak and missed weight for his last fight. Now trying his hand up at middleweight Staropoli is trying to halt his current skid and get something of a fresh start. Dolidze is your favorite at -150 to +125 for Staropoli.

Middleweight Bout: Roman Dolidze (8-1, 186 lbs.) vs. Laureano Staropoli (9-3, 185 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Dolidze is an inch taller but has four and a half inches of reach advantage. The size difference is fairly obvious when they get close, Dolidze is much broader of frame. Body kick from Staropoli. Staropoli lands a couple of leg kicks. Dolidze gets a double leg, moves to the ride position as Staropoli wall walks. Some knees to the thigh from Dolidze, then one to the head as well. Staropoli can’t get Dolidze off of his back. Staropoli is still getting kneed and can’t get free. Dolidze keeps landing knees to the leg and body. Dolidze gets a trip takedown, Staropoli quickly wall walks. Staropoli keeps fishing for a kimura grip to fight the hands, Dolidze lands a knee to the head. Dolidze lands some rights. The round ends in that spot.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Dolidze

ROUND TWO: Staropoli comes out southpaw, and gets taken down because of it. Dolidze mounts the legs, but Staropoli wall walks though he’s still stuck with Dolidze holding a rear waist lock. Dolidze drops for a double leg, gets it and moves to the back again. Staropoli back up via the wall but he really can’t get free. They break and wind up at distance. Both men land punches, Staropoli slips and eats a right on the way back up. Dolidze lands an uppercut in close. Staropoli lands a left hook, Dolidze doesn’t like that and gets a double leg against the fence. Dolidze back to the ride position looking to control things. Back to Dolidze holding the back, working knees on occasion, while Staropoli can’t break his grip. Staropoli gets chest to chest at least, so that’s something. More knees from Dolidze, and some shoulder shrugs as well. Staropoli gets a trip, nearly gets on top but Dolidze threatens his legs and Staropoli gets free forcing a reset. They punch into the clinch and hit the fence yet again. They break, and Dolidze blocks a high kick as the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Dolidze, 20-18 Dolidze overall

ROUND THREE: Staropoli still bouncing a bit as the round starts. Dolidze blocks a few high kicks. Dolidze lands a leg kick. Staropoli misses a counter right. A few jabs go back and forth. Bit of a left hook from Staropoli. Dolidze avoids a punch, tries a double leg and gets on the back along the fence again. A knee lands for Dolidze. Staropoli gets a front headlock, uses that to change the position a bit but Dolidze is after the single leg again. Dolidze can’t get that, but lands a hard right hand as they go back into the clinch. Staropoli gets a takedown into the ride position, he lands a couple of punches but decides not to go into the guard. The ref makes Dolidze stand, and we’ve got less than a minute left. Dolidze gets contact and forces another clinch to teh fence. The fight, somewhat fittingly, ends in that spot.

SCORECARD: 10-9 Dolidze, 30-27 Dolidze overall

Wasn’t interesting, but if Staropoli couldn’t deal with that position that’s on him. No interview for Dolidze.

We head to a bit of an interview that Michael Bisping did moderating middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and his next challenger Marvin Vettori. Vettori says this is destiny, everyone thinks he won their first fight which makes Adesanya laugh. They immediately start talking over each other. Adesanya says he’ll finish the job this time, Vettori will have no hope. Vettori says he can’t lie about how he felt after their fight. Adesanya says his improvements since their first fight relative to Vettori’s can’t really be compared. Vettori says being the first Italian champion means the world to him, says again that it’s destiny and he can’t be stopped. Adesanya promises to finish the Italian job this time. Vettori jokes about trying to wrestle Adesanya. Adesanya says he can try, it’s not like everyone hasn’t tried that for his entire career. He says Vettori did nothing with his takedowns, they resume yelling at each other. Adesanya calls Vettori his crazy ex who keeps stalking him, Vettori believes he’s Adesanya’s nightmare, Adesanya likens him more to a wet dream. Adesanya reiterates he’s finishing the job this time. More bickering follows as Bisping tries to wind things down.

Walt Harris is on a two fight losing streak and has been stopped in both of those with strikes, if he wants to retain his top ranking even in a thin division like heavyweight he can’t afford a three fight losing streak here. Marcin Tybura has been enjoying something of a career renaissance, he’s on a four fight winning streak and stopped Greg Hardy in his last fight. A win here would likely move Tybura into the top ten contenders. Tybura is the favorite at -190 to +160 for Harris.

Heavyweight Bout: #8 Walt Harris (13-9 1 NC, 264 lbs.) vs. #11 Marcin Tybura (21-6, 251 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Harris is two inches taller while Tybura has an inch of reach advantage. Both men fighting southpaw, they touch gloves to get us going. Tybura probing with body kicks and switching his stance. Bit of a right from Tybura. Harris misses a head kick but lands a spinning back fist. Harris is all over Tybura, he’s unloading along the fence with everything. Tybura hangs tough though. A Harris left wobbles Tybura, but Tybura gets a takedown along the fence. Harris wall walks but is still clinched. They trade in the clinch then break. Tybura lands a body kick, Harris returns it but it’s caught and Tybura gets a takedown into side control. Harris tries to get up, Tybura gets to the ride position and lands punches. Both hooks in now for Tyubra and he’s landing punches. Harris is kind of stuck eating punches. Tybura flattens Harris out, keeps landing punches and the ref stops the fight.

The First Round Finish Club thanks Mr. Tybura for his work this evening. Mic time for Tybura, he says he expected the rush from Harris but ate too many punches. He mentions working hard on his wrestling ahead of this fight. Asked who he’d like next he says he’s not ready for the title picture yet but hopefully the next one gets him there.

This is textbook stuff from Tybura, he gets the hooks in, flattens Harris out and then is able to unload whith Harris unable to really defend himself or address the position.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik was thought to be a real player at heavyweight but he’s just 2-2 in his last four fights, being finished in quick fashion by Francis Ngannou and in his last fight losing a truly dismal fight to Ciryl Gane. If Rozenstruik wants to remain a relevant player in the division he needs a win here. Augusto Sakai just had a six fight winning streak snapped when he was stopped by Alistair Overeem, he’s trying to bounce back and avoid his first ever losing streak. The odds for this one are close but favor Rozenstruik at -125 to +105 for Sakai.

Heavyweight Bout: #6 Jairzinho Rozenstruik (11-2, 254 lbs.) vs. #9 Augusto Sakai (15-2-1, 255.5 lbs.)

ROUND ONE: Sakai is an inch taller while Rozenstruik has an inch of reach advantage. They touch gloves, Sakai fighting southpaw. Both men miss leg kicks early, Sakai doing most of the circling. A lot of stance switches from Sakai while they circle. Bit of a calf kick from Sakai. Another calf kick from Sakai, Rozenstruik lands a right to the body. A lot of staring and feinting. Bit of a right to the body from Rozenstruik. Rozenstruik catches a leg kick, but misses the counter right. Sakai misses a right. They trade jabs but both miss rights. Glancing left from Rozenstruik. A pretty decent combination from Rozenstruik along the fence line lands. A right from Rozenstruik drops Sakai, he’s able to land a couple of follow ups and the ref stops this.

Rozenstruik on the mic now, he talks about how hard he’s been working and plans on working even harder going forward. His coach was yelling at him about Sakai’s habit of circling only to his own right, and when he heard the end of the round he knew he could take a chance. Asked who he’d like next he wants anyone ranked above him, warning them he’s coming for them.

Well on that note UFC on ESPN+ 47 comes to a close. At least the top two fights ended in the first, and Ponzinibbio vs. Baeza was legitimately a darn good fight.
