UFC & ONE FC Reportedly Close to A Trade Involving Demetrious Johnson & Ben Askren

According to ESPN, things are about to get interesting in MMA if all goes to plan. The UFC and ONE Championship are close to finalizing what could be considered the first major trade in mixed martial arts history. The rumored deal is for the UFC to release former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson from his contract in order for him to sign with ONE. In return, ONE will release former welterweight champion Ben Askren from his contract so he can sign with UFC. Both Johnson and Askren have multiple fights left on their respective contracts. While trades in sports are nothing new, something like this has never been done in MMA.
