As previously reported Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is off this weekend’s scheduled UFC 249 fight card after he tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, his scheduled bout with Uriah Hall has been pulled from the card. Later on, Hall issued a statement on his Twitter account directed at Jacare.

Uriah Hall wrote, “@JacareMMA Brother I know it sucks I’m sorry you have to go through this I am beyond devastated for the missed opportunity I wish you nothing but recovery for you and your family.”

Additionally, since the news on Jacare was initially reported, the UFC confirmed in an official statement that two of Jacare’s cornermen were also flagged as positive for COVID-19.

As of right now, UFC 249 appears to be moving forward as planned, sans the Hall vs. Jacare fight. UFC 249 takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville later today in Jacksonville, Florida. 411 will have live coverage of the show. The fight card will be available live on ESPN+. Prelims will be broadcast on ESPN.
