Volkan Oezdemir Cleared of Felony Battery Charge After Victim Declines to Cooperate
July 9, 2018 | Posted by
A felony battery charge against Volkan Oezdemir has been dropped after the alleged victim declined to cooperate with prosecutors. MMAjunkie has confirmed with Florida states attorney spokesperson Kristi Grimm that the charges were dismissed on Monday in a Broward County (Florida) court. Oezdemir had been charged with second-degree felony battery with great bodily harm due to an alleged fight in a bar back in November.
Oezdemir is now clear to fight Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 227. He had originally been booked to face Shogun Rua at UFC Fight Night 124, but was removed from that fight in favor of the Gustafsson bout.
