July 4, 2018 | Posted by
The felony battery trial for Volkan Oezdemir has been pushed back to next week. MMA Fighting has confirmed that the trial, which stems from an incident last summer, will begin on July 9th. Oezdemir’s lawyer said that he expects the trial to only last a matter of days, and not likely longer than a week.
Oezdemir is facing a third-degree felony of battery with great bodily harm after allegedly knocking a man outside a bar unconscious. His fight with Shogun Rua at UFC Fight Night 131 is off, as he was moved to a bout with Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 227 on August 4th.
