15 People Arrested After Brawl At MMA Event Leaves Three Officers Injured

15 people were arrested after a brawl involving around 100 people broke out during a 559 Fights MMA event in Visalia, California.

The Fresno Bees reported that the brawl involving almost 100 fans took place at the Visalia Convention Center and forced 559 Fights’ Next Gen 4 to be stopped. At least 26 Visalia police officers responded to the scene. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office also provided assistance with deputies. Three Visalia police officers suffered minor injuries while responding to the disturbance. All three were expected to recover.

Police departments from Farmersville and Exeter also sent officers to help manage the situation. 15 people were ultimately arrested following the incident. They were booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

559 Fights later issued a news release addressing what happened during the MMA event:

“For more than 15 years and over 100 events, we have maintained a strong record of providing a safe environment for our fighters, coaches, staff and fans. Safety has always been — and will remain — one of our highest priorities. This behavior does not represent 559 Fights, our athletes, or the overwhelming majority of our fans.”
