THIS WEEK:

YOUR Commentators: Jim Cornette and Dean Hill.

YOUR Recapper: Clark Patterson.

THE TROUBLESHOOTERS VS. MATT JOHNSON & SETH SKYFIRE
REF: Chris Kay

This non-title bout kicks off this week’s program with Johnson and Skyfire demonstrating some great tag team harmony early on. Johnson is getting beaten pillar to post when he looks for a tag from his partner. But it isn’t any simple tag as Skyfire comes off the top turnbuckle, is cannonballed by his partner onto a surprised Brent Albright for a count of two. Then Johnson is tagged back in as he leaps off a crouching Skyfire for a crossbody on Johnson for another count of two. But their good fortune doesn’t last long as The Troubleshooters resort to their usual tactics to gain the advantage. Johnson is isolated for quite a while until Skyfire is able to tag back in and try some more fancy footwork. He tries a crucifix, but Albright is able to stop him mid-move and slip on a Crowbar. Johnson is held back in his corner by Masters while Skyfire taps out to the deadly move giving the win by submission to The Troubleshooters!

INTERVIEW WITH INSPECTOR IMPACT

Before Impact joins Jim Cornette in the ring, the OVW Matchmaker directs everyone’s attention to a video of Nick Dinsmore’s “best friend” who has a personal message for Inspector Impact. The video shows a masked wrestler lacing up his boots saying a match has been signed for the May 21st Six Flags show where he will take on Inspector Impact. Calling himself “Mr. Wrestling 2”, the unknown wrestler says he will take Nick Dinsmore’s revenge out for him on Inspector Impact and do everything to Impact exactly as Dinsmore would do it. Impact then storms out to the ring and screams to Cornette that it is Nick Dinsmore himself under the mask! Cornette says Impact will have the opportunity to prove it May 21st at Six Flags if he can remove the mask. Impact says he will do just that and cripple “Mr. Wrestling 2” so bad that Nick Dinsmore will have to resort to collecting empty soda cans to pay his mother’s hospital bills!.

JOHNNY NITRO W/MELINA VS. ROD STEELE
REF: Ray Ramsey

One who has become a fan favorite in OVW in recent days, Rod Steele gets the opportunity to show why he’s so popular against a very successful, yet hated opponent. Steele is able to pull off some successful moves in the opening of the match, but Johnny Nitro quickly resorts to his dirty tricks bag with several chokes and fists. Steele takes it all for about three minutes, but then decides he’s had enough and starts scoopslamming Nitro about four times to the cheers of the Davis Arena faithful. On the fifth attempt however, Nitro puts a finger to Steele’s eye as Melina jumps on the ring apron to distract the official. Nitro looks like he’s going to piledrive Steele, but Matt Capotelli rushes out of the back, jumps on the ring apron, and grabs Nitro as he lunges for him. Capotelli jumps off the ring apron snapping Nitro’s head disorienting him. Steele comes up with a schoolboy just in time for the official to make the count on the surprised Nitro!

INTERVIEW WITH COACH HENRY BACON

For a change of pace, Jim Cornette brought to the ring the coach of the newly re-formed Kentucky Colonels basketball team, Henry Bacon. Coach Bacon announced that the Colonels have joined with the new American Basketball Association which is introducing new elements to the game such as a four-point shot and lighted backboards. Those wishing to find out more about another great Louisville tradition can go to www.colonelsbasketball.com to learn more about the exciting happenings with the Kentucky Colonels.

OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
MATT MORGAN VS. MIKE MONDO W/BOLIN & LULU
REF: Robert Brisko

At the start of the show, Mike Mondo seemed very intimidated by the prospect of facing Matt Morgan for the OVW Heavyweight Title. A pep-talk by Bolin didn’t seem to lift his spirits any until Inspector Impact walks up to Bolin and informs him that should Mondo defeat Morgan, Bolin Services gets $5,000 as a nice little bonus! That news picked Mondo right up and carried him right through the beginning of the match. That beginning however could have been called a comedy of errors! Mondo would go for a headlock, but Morgan would simply lift him up and gently place him on the turnbuckle complete with a pat on the head! Conventional tactics would obviously not work, so Bolin would jump up on the apron and get Brisko’s attention as Mondo went for a handful of powder and delivered it straight to Morgan’s eyes! A kick to Morgan’s groin and a cover only gets him a count of one from the refocused Brisko. A BS briefcase to the OVW Champion’s head as well as a pair of brass knuckles is not enough to keep Morgan from kicking out of Mondo’s covers. A perturbed Morgan delivers a right hand and a big back body drop to Mondo just as Lulu now gets on the ring apron to distract Brisko. Brisko comes over and Lulu plants a big kiss right on Brisko’s lips that the official doesn’t seem to want to fight off! Meanwhile, Mondo slips out of the ring onto the floor. Morgan comes to the edge, reaches through the ropes, and grabs Mondo to bring him back into the ring. While Morgan’s head is down, Big Bad John slips out of the back with a steel chair and beans Morgan right in the head! Mondo then slips in the ring and rolls Morgan up for the pin! But the OVW Champion kicks out at two and decides enough is enough. He grabs Mondo by the throat and delivers one of the biggest choke slams ever! He then places a boot across Mondo’s chest, and the referee makes the three count keeping Morgan as OVW Champion! That’s entertainment!

CONTENDER’S MATCH
THE JERSEY SHORE CREW VS. ADRENALINE W/SYNN
REF:

Danny Inferno sits this one out as Nova and Idol decide to take on Adrenaline for a chance to face the OVW tag champs, The Troubleshooters. Synn is on the side of Tank Toland and Chris Cage as sort of an equalizer to Trudi Denucci, and she would prove instrumental throughout the match. Case in point, Cage is coming off the ropes for an attack on Nova, but Denucci grabs his leg and trips him up. Here comes Synn around the corner chasing off Denucci, but she’s stopped short by Inferno. So as payback, as Nova comes off the ropes, Synn trips him much to Denucci’s chagrin. Meanwhile, the tag action is fast and furious in the ring as Nova and Idol are able to isolate Cage for most of the match. But when Toland finally gets a tag in, that’s when all hell breaks loose. He starts handing fists and drop kicks out like candy! Soon, all four men are in the ring with Adrenaline pulling off some well coordinated team work. They Irish whip their opponents into the corner making a small pile then monkey flipping them each out into the middle of the squared circle. Adrenaline then joins hands and starts clotheslining their opponents. But Idol ducks, and Tank and Cage end up clotheslining the referee! Denucci sees an opening and slips into the ring, but Synn rushes in and spears her to the mat before she has a chance to interfere. Synn then chases Denucci all the way into the concession stands! Meanwhile, Cage goes to the top turnbuckle while Toland gets ready to help him deliver the rocket launcher. But Inferno grabs Toland’s legs, trips him up, and pulls him crotch first toward the bottom of the turnbuckle making an appointment with a urologist almost a sure thing! That causes Cage to lose his balance on the turnbuckle and he’s straddling the turnbuckle in manly pain! Idol goes to the top turnbuckle and superplexes Cage to the ring. Nova follows up with a devastating splash on Cage as Nova goes to get the referee. Brisko makes a count of three, and The Jersey Shore Crew will go on to face The Troubleshooters for the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles. But to add insult to injury, Nova and Idol grab Synn, bring her into the ring, and put a double suplex on her! Denucci then lays across her as Nova makes a mock count of three, and the entire Crew poses in the middle of the ring!
