411’s TNA Global Impact Report 6.05.06
Hey everyone, as some of you may know, I have been recapping Velocity for a little over a month now. With Velocity ending this weekend, I now get to cover Global Impact!
Williams and Sabin start off with a lockup, which is reversed into a bearhug by Williams. Sabin rolls out of an arm lock and gives Williams an armdrag. Sabin hits a drop toe hold and tags in Dutt. Dutt hits a huracanrana, which is good for two. Young tags in, but Dutt hits a drop toe hold and then a standing moonsault. Dutt nails an elbow to head, whips Young into the ropes, and hits an elbow. Dutt charges off the ropes and hits another elbow, this time for a two count. Young reverses Dutt and whips him into the ropes, but Dutt counters by jumping over the ropes and onto the apron. Dutt gives a dropkick to Williams, but Young knocks Dutt off the apron afterwards.
We then have quick break with a promo for the Best of Samoa Joe DVD that comes out today (June 6th).
We’re back, and Williams is now in. He slams Dutt’s head against the turnbuckle, and picks him up, but Dutt fights back. Williams knocks him back down to the canvas, and then sets Dutt upside down in the corner and starts singing the Canadian National Anthem. Williams picks him up, gives him a scoop slam, and then tags in Young. Eric gets onto top rope and hits an elbow for two. Sabin made the save, but ends up distracting the referee, which allows Williams to run in and apply a headlock on Dutt. Dutt fights out, but runs into an elbow by Williams, who then hits a bridging suplex for two. Youn tags back in and whips Dutt into the corner, but Dutt goes onto the apron and hits a missle dropkick off the ropes. Sabin finally tags in, cleans house, and hits a school boy for two. Young gets knocked down in the corner, and Sabin hits a drop toe hold onto Williams, which sends Petey’s head right into Young’s crotch. Sabin nails a sitout powerbomb onto Williams, but Young makes the save. Young, with the help of Williams, is able to nail a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Williams goes for the Canadian Destroyer, but Sabin reverses him. Williams ducks a clothesline, but Sabin knocks down Young who was on the apron. Williams hits a school boy with his feet on the ropes, but Sabin kicks out after two. Young tags back in and beats down Sabin in the corner. Behind the referee’s back, Williams puts some white powder on his hands. Dutt runs in and kicks Petey’s hands, which sends the powder into Petey’s eyes. Williams doesn’t have a clue where he is, and gives Young the Canadian Destroyer, thinking he was Sabin. Williams makes the cover, and Dutt counts to three. Williams celebrates with Sabin, but Sabin picks him up and gives him the Cradle Shot for the victory at roughly 9:00.
Winner: Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt
Overall: Very good edition of Global Impact that hyped up Impact well, as well as provide us with an entertaining tag match.
