411’s WWE RAW Talk Report 09/24/17

-Welcome to the No Mercy edition of RAW Talk as we are fresh off of what was a damn fine wrestling show. Everyone seemed motivated, the crowd was jacked and they delivered on the promise the card had on paper.

-Renee Young (how I miss covering shows with her) is your host and she is joined by Jerry “The King” Lawler. They discuss Lesnar’s war with Strowman and Renee says a lot of people were expecting to see Braun leave with the Title tonight.

-The new CW Champ, Enzo Amore, interrupts and cracks jokes. He talks about how he had to do a couple pushups and dropped a deuce to get down to 205. Lawler and Renee bring up Enzo’s Beetlejuice inspired gear and he says he loves Beetlejuice. Enzo wants to change the design of the title and until they change it he will just be throwing it around. He then gets irritated the title still says Nevile’s name, and calls himself the greatest CW Champion of all time. Lawler has fun setting Enzo up for more jokes at Neville’s expense as they attack his large ears next. Enzo then makes references about finding a woman to sleep with him and the title. This was certainly an Enzo interview and some will love it and some will hate it.

-Renee and The King joke that they only know about a ¼ of what Enzo ever says and just pretends to understand him.

-Alexa Bliss is out next and she says that she has run through the entire Woman’s Division. It had to be done as Asuka is likely up next and we know how that one is going to end. They openly talk about who is next and Alexa says there is nobody left as she has cleaned out the division. She takes some shots at Mickey James and says a match between the two of them wouldn’t be competitive. She calls Mickey an old lady and perhaps they are going to do a RAW match with the two of them before Asuka takes over. Renee brings up Asuka and Alexa says that she will be the one to end her undefeated streak. She takes her leave after saying that she is a fan of the way her title looks.

-Lawler and Renee talk about Asuka. The King doesn’t think there is anyway Alexa is looking forward to a match with her.

-John Cena is our final guest and he jokes that he was one of the last guests of Talking Smack so he hopes he doesn’t kill RAW Talk. Cena says finishing in second place is always tough. He says he was hard on Roman by design in the build to this match and it is his job to be the best or the vehicle to the person that is the best. He puts over Reigns for finding something extra and he earned his respect tonight. Cena says he practices what he preaches when he says “Step up or step aside.” He puts his heart and soul in everything he does in the WWE, and that is the same thing he wanted from Roman. He lacked that ability to dig deep and he needed to bring that out. He puts over the promo Reigns cut on Monday and then the match tonight. Cena says he lost to the better man tonight as he gave the best he could. He says that tonight solidifies Roman as the guy and it is up to him to run with it from here. Renee brings up that Cena leaving the ring was kind of like what happened with Taker at Mania. Cena brings up he won his first World Title in this building and tonight it felt like a giant burden had been lifted off his shoulder. He says he is WWE first and it makes him feel good as now he can believe in the WWE’s future confidently. He was proud of what Roman did and he says there is no shame in failing as he will learn from it. Renee wants to know what Cena told Roman after the match and Cena won’t share. He has been down the road Roman is walking and will walk so everything said it just between the two of them.

-Cena calls the night emotional and he starts to break down a little as he thinks of winning his first World Title here, and coming full circle to tonight. Lawler wants to know if Cena is going to retire, and he says no, but he thinks his role is different. He brings up his podcast with Edge and Christian (go check that out), and he knows there is a time to say enough is enough, and he isn’t there yet, but he can’t go at the pace he has been going. He says will be like Batman in that when the WWE shines the light he will be running. It has been a wonderful 4 weeks watching Roman mature and he was beyond impressed. He says that tonight Roman stepped up and took the torch as it isn’t passed….it’s taken. Cena keeps saying he is proud of Roman and that it is about showing equal respect to those that cheer you and boo you.

“Well, it was weird because here you have a guy who says he is The Guy and I don’t feel right about it, I don’t feel that he is. And then in a one-month period, I watch this young man mature into The Guy, from a Superstar standpoint and tonight it was from a performance standpoint. This is the building I won my first world championship in at WrestleMania, and I’m not going to date myself but that was many moons go, so sitting there tonight, honestly it felt like a giant burden had been lifted off my shoulders in the best way possible.”

Renee thanks Cena for all he has done for the business. Cena takes a second to thank everyone in the WWE Universe. He reiterates that he is not gone, but things are changing for him. Cena jokes that he would go party with Enzo, but he can’t keep with that anymore.

-Renee wraps things as her and King mention it is definitely a night of change. They show Cena walking to the back after his match to end the show.

-Well that was certainly a noteworthy show. Enzo was Enzo which is good or bad depending on your view. Alexa came off well and seemingly has 2 challengers waiting as they teased matches with Mickey and Asuka. Then we had Cena being reflective and doing all he could to put over Roman Reigns. I still don’t know if it will work, but the WWE is stubborn if nothing else with the Roman superman push. Thanks for reading.
