Adam Copeland checked off a bucket list item by competing in Arena Mexico at last night’s AEW Grand Slam Mexico, and he took to social media to comment after the show. Last night’s special episode saw Copeland and Christian Cage team with the Young Bucks to battle the Death Riders, with the Jon Moxley-led stable picking up the victory. The appearance was one of Copeland’s “white whale” venues, as he noted over the weekend.
Copeland posted to Instagram to share his thoughts on the appearance, writing:
“What. A. Night. Finally, finally after 34 years I was privileged to step into The Wrestling Cathedral. Arena Mexico. And man, Mexico you did not disappoint. I felt the vibrations in my bones when I came out. It’d been 18 years since I last performed in Mexico and to finally do it in those hallowed halls, the perfect way to cap off my love affair with Lucha Libre and Mexico. I’ll take last night to the grave with me. Gracias Mexico. 🇲🇽 credit @cedrix_fotografc”
Cope and Cage are set to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks at AEW All In: London. Copeland will check off another bucket list venue there in Wembley Stadium. The PPV takes place on August 30th and airs live on PPV.
