Adam Copeland to Battle Steve Maclin at MLP Northern Rising

AEW World Tag Team Champion Adam Copeland’s opponent for his debut match in Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling has been revealed.

As noted, Copeland is set to compete at MLP’s upcoming event, Northern Rising, on October 3. The event will take place at TMU’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens.

Earlier this week, Adam Copeland challenged former TNA talent Steve Maclin to a match at the October 3 event. The challenge came about after Maclin recently appeared on MLP Mayhem and called Canadian wrestling a feeder system to the USA, asking fans why all their heroes left the country.

On last night’s Mayhem, Steve Maclin accepted Copeland’s challenge. He said:

“Adam Copeland, you just can’t seem to keep my name out of your mouth on social media. So if you want to do this, if you really want to do this, Northern Rising, October 3rd, I’ll see you then.”

MLP Northern Rising will see Adam Copeland check off another iconic venue from his wishlist, having done so this past weekend at All In: London, when he and Christian Cage defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against The Young Bucks at the iconic Wembley Stadium. This match will take place just a week after he and Cage defend their tag team gold against The Bucks and FTR in a three-way Ladder Match at All Out: Chicago.

Meanwhile, Copeland has previously touched upon his desire to compete at Maple Leaf Gardens. You can check his comments HERE.
