AEW has announced that former All-Atlantic and Trios Champion Pac has passed away. The company made the announcement on Twitter on Sunday evening, writing:
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability. Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
Details around Pac’s passing have not yet been revealed. He was 40 years old.
As AEW noted, Pac began his wrestling career in 2004 working in a number of independent promotions in the UK such as the Scarborough Wrestling Alliance and Essex Championship Wrestling. His first match as Pac came for Independent Wrestling Federation in March of 2004.
Pac went on to work for promotions like IPW: UK and One Pro Wrestling before making his PWG debut in November of 2006. He was with PWG for two years and had a run with the PWG World Tag Team Championship alongside Roderick Strong. He worked for Dragon Gate for several years in the late ’00s and early ’10s before he signed a contract with WWE in 2012.
Pac debuted in WWE as Adrian Neville in January of 2013 on WWE NXT. He won the NXT Championship and had two NXT Tag Team Championship runs before going to the main roster, where he had a reign as the WWE Cruiserweight Champion. He famously walked out of WWE Raw in October of 2017 and his contract was frozen; he eventually exited in August of 2018.
Pac would go on to sign with AEW as one of the first roster members in January of 2019. During his time in AEW, he counted himself as a member of the Death Triangle with Penta and Rey Fenix, during which he won the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Championship and had a run with his stablemates as the Trios Champions. Following Death Triangle’s dissolution, he teamed with Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to win the Trios Championships again.
Pac joined the Blackpool Combat Club when they turned heel on Brian Danielson to become the Death Riders, and remained a member of the group throughout. He competed just Saturday at AEW All Out where he lost a AEW National Championship match to Andrade El Idolo.
On behalf of 411, our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Pac. He will be missed.
