AJ Francis says that he tried to get John Cena to do a collaboration with Hit Row and revealed why Cena said no. Francis was part of the WWE stable, which also included fellow alumni Swerve Strickland and Ashante Thee Adonis as well as B-Fab. Francis spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri for a new interview and during the conversation he revealed that he asked Cena about appearing on a track with them, only to have Cena say he wouldn’t be able to keep up.

S“John Cena himself told me that he couldn’t rap with me and that he would be doing a disservice to himself if he tried,” Francis noted (per Fightful). “I asked John to get on a song with me when I was still in WWE. He was like, ‘Bro, I can’t. I can’t do that anymore. It would be a disservice. I’ve heard the things that you do and I wouldn’t be able to hang with you guys.’”

He continued, “I was trying to get him on a song with all of Hit Row and he was like, ‘Nah, I can’t do it.’

Cena is set to face an entirely different AJ, namely AJ Styles, at WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday. The latest card for the PLE, which airs live on the ESPN App and Netflix internationally, is here.
