AJ Styles Reveals He Wore Thong During WWE TLC 2016 Wardrobe Malfunction

Former WWE Champion AJ Styles recently commented on his much-talked-about “wardrobe malfunction” from TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2016.

At the PLE, The Phenomenal One defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Dean Ambrose in a TLC Match.

However, during the match, the back of Styles’ tights ripped on a chair, exposing his backside. AJ addressed the same during his appearance on The Nikki & Brie Show, revealing what exactly went down that night.

“A lot of people think that I had a malfunction in my gear. No, my gear did exactly what it’s supposed to do when it is hit with a sharp object. It’s supposed to tear. There is no malfunction. It may have looked like that I don’t have on underwear. I did, but I don’t like many lines, so I was wearing my thong,” he said. [H/T: Fightful]

Styles would go on to win the match and retain the championship. The legendary performer wrestled his last match at this year’s Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, losing to Gunther in a career-threatening match. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this past Friday.
