AJ Styles Cuts Promo at WWE Live Event in Australia, Tells Fans They Probably Won’t See Him ‘In a Singlet Like This Anymore’

As previously reported, WWE held a Supershow live event earlier today in Melbourne, Australia at the Rod Laver Arena. During the house show, WWE Superstar and former WWE Champion AJ Styles defeated El Grande Americano in a singles bout and had a heartfelt message for the WWE fans in Australia.

After the match, Styles cut a promo, indicating it was likely the last time they’d see him in the ring. Styles has recently been openly talking about his plans to retire from wrestling later next year.

Addressing the Australian fans on the microphone, Styles stated, “I just want to thank you guys for cheering to be some of the best fans in the world. To tell you the truth, I’m probably not going to see you again in a singlet like this anymore.” He continued, “So I just wanted you to know from the bottom of my heart, thank you very much.”

What’s Next for AJ Styles?

Although AJ Styles might be calling it quits in terms of his in-ring career, he’s not finished up yet. On next week’s Monday Night Raw, Styles teams up with Dragon Lee for a shot at the WWE World Tag Team Titles, currently held by The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh).

The title match goes down on Monday, October 20 at WWE Monday Night Raw at the Golden 1 Center. The show will air live on Netflix. Tickets for the show are still available at Ticketmaster.com.
