AJ Styles Weighs In On Potential Futures For Kairi Sane, Aleister Black & More

AJ Styles has shared his thoughts on the potential post-WWE futures of Kairi Sane, Aleister Black and more. The post-WrestleMania 42 releases are now free agents including Sane, Black, Zelina Vega, and Santos Escobar. We’ve already seen the Motor City Machine Guns show up in AEW, while some talent have yet to make their post-WWE plans known.
Styles was asked about several of the talent on the AJ Styles Show (previously Phenomenally Retro). You can see the highlights below:
On Kairi Sane:
“Well, again very surprised that we got rid of her. But I do believe that she is married and has a husband in Japan, so that makes sense that she want to get home. I think that was the first reason why she left because this is her second time leaving the WWE. And I think it was maybe being homesick. Wanting to get home, being in Japan. I get it, I understand that. When you’re away from family, it’s got to be tough so I get it. Maybe she’s done enough where she felt like, ‘Okay, I can move back home.’ But it doesn’t sound like she’s retired yet, so I don’t know what’s going on.”
On Santos Escobar:
“I like Santos. I think he’s an awesome freaking dude. Great wrestler, I think he’d fit perfect in Triple A. I don’t know what the reason reasoning for that is. So, where’s the next step? Where are we going to find him next? It wouldn’t surprise me if we saw him in an AEW or a CMLL or something like that. I mean, he’s definitely got the tools, looks amazing right now. Why not take a chance?”
On Aleister Black & Zelina Vega:
“Very surprised for this release. Very surprised, because both of them seem like — I know they weren’t doing much with Aleister, but we just got him back. So I don’t quite understand. Maybe it’s something that we didn’t know. I don’t know man, I really don’t.
“Both these these two great and I love them. I think they’re — I don’t know. This is beyond my pay grade, I don’t know what’s going on. So I’d hope the best for both of them. They’re more easily could go and do whatever they want to do, and be where they want to go, be where they want to be at. They could do that. Will this happen? Because he did leave to come back to WWE. Does he go back to AW? I don’t know. Maybe they’re done, I don’t know.”
