The woman known as Alba Fyre during her time in WWE made her return to pro wrestling over the weekend. Kay Lee Ray appeared on Pro Wrestling EVE’s show Friday night, scoring a victory over Molly Spartan. KLR was a regular in Pro Wrestling EVE before making the move to NXT: UK & then WWE. She competed in NXT: UK under the Kay Lee Ray name until switching to Alba Fyre during her stint in NXT.
KLR did an interview with The Daily Star where she discussed her departure from WWE, which she says was her decision.
On Leaving WWE And Returning to the British Indies:
“My contract was up and I knew it was coming up and I had the decision of whether I wanted to stay or not. I know some other people got fired and they have the 90 days clause, but because of that and what because mine’s was just a contract ending, it means I didn’t have the 90 days and I was able to come and do this (Pro Wrestling EVE) and do it as like kind of a surprise, but I know it wasn’t really a surprise. But yeah, really glad it worked out this way.”
On Her Time With WWE:
“I had fun honestly, like start to end. I got the job that I wanted to and I had fun while I was doing it with my friends and now I get to come back and start again.”
KLR has already been announced for RevPro’s next event in London. It’s safe to say that she’ll be keeping busy in the British independent scene for the immediate future.
