Anthem Ordered to Produce Amped Sales Documents In Impact/GFW Lawsuit

– Anthem has been ordered to produce documents relating to the sales of GFW Amped content in Jeff Jarrett’s lawsuit against the company and Impact Wrestling. PWInsider reports that there was a conference call last Tuesday in relation to the lawsuit to handle a motion Jarrett and his Global Wrestling Entertainment company filed requesting that Anthem be required to produce the documents.

Anthem was resisting the request, arguing that the docs are “contracts with third parties that contain confidentiality provisions” and stating they couldn’t provide them without a court order. That order came down after the call. The documents will be filed under seal confidentiality, though the court reserved the right to later allow them to be unsealed or redacted. Anthem has fourteen days to file any objections and after they’re handled, Anthem will be forced to file the documentation. They must also inform their international partners of the ruling.

Jarrett and GWE are suing Anthem and Impact claiming that Anthem violated state and federal trademark infringements in relation to GWE and violated Jarrett’s exclusive property rights to his own name, photograph, and other likeness. Jarrett claims that Anthem prevented him from filing copyrights for the Amped footage, as he had to provide footage in order to do so and Impact/Anthem deleted all of the master recordings. Anthem admitted that they had had the footage in their possession and deleted all of it in the “normal course of business” so that they could “free up storage space.”
