AEW star Anthony Bowens recently opened up about the injuries he has been dealing with lately.

During an interview with MSR last month, The Opps member revealed he doesn’t have an MCL and the right side of his meniscus is torn.

Bowens further revealed he has been diagnosed with multiple concussions and also has a bruised nerve in his lower back. He also detailed his issues with chronic neck pain, stating he feels like an older gentleman who’s seen it all and can’t get out of bed after every in-ring outing.

Here’s what Anthony Bowens said:

“Yes, it’s entertainment … but at the same time, it’s very hard to do this at a very high level and not be an athlete. You have to be in intense cardiovascular shape. You have to be able to have coordination. The physicality is very real. I don’t have an MCL. The right side of my meniscus is torn. I had to clean up my other meniscus. I’ve had multiple diagnosed concussions. Bruised nerves in my lower back. I have chronic neck pain. After a match, I feel like I’m an older gentleman who’s been through it all, and I can’t get out of bed.”

Bowens last competed on AEW television during the June 27, 2026, episode of Collision, where The Opps unsuccessfully challenged The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) for the World Trios Championship.

He worked a Dark match following the July 15 episode of Dynamite, teaming up with his Opps stablemates to take on The Frat House in a Trios Match.
