Apollo Crews Recalls Reaction To WWE Release, If Door Is Still Open For Return
The former Apollo Crews recently discussed his reaction to finding out that he was being let go from WWE. Uhaa Nation was among those stars who were let go from the company in late April following WrestleMania 42. He had been with the company since 2014 and is a former WWE United States and WWE Intercontinental Champion.
Crews is now working under his original ring name of Uhaa Nation, and he reflected on his exit in an appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet. He noted that he needed time to process the news at first and believes the door is still open, but he’s not just waiting for the call. You can see highlights below:
On His Reaction To Being Told He Was Being Let Go:
“I didn’t really feel anything. And when I say I didn’t feel anything, it wasn’t like, ‘I don’t care.’ I think I just didn’t give it enough time to process. Not that it was unexpected, but I think the fact that I did expect it kind of helped soften the blow. And it wasn’t that I didn’t care, but I wasn’t overly emotional about it.
“I was at basketball practice with my son, so I was like, ‘Okay, I have to still be a dad. Once this practice is over, I can’t just sulk in my misery until we get home. He knows nothing about what’s going on with the job. And even if I explain it to him, he just couldn’t understand it.’”
On Whether the Door Is Still Open There:
“I think that option would be there for sure. But it’s not something I’m sitting here just waiting and dying to happen.”
