Babyfaces Victorious In Women’s Blood & Guts Match On AEW Dynamite

Willow Nightingale, Queen Aminata, Wrathlander, and the Brawling Birds got the win in a violent women’s Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite. The opening match of Wednesday’s show saw the six babyfaces take on Persephone, Divine Dominion, and the Triangle of Madness in a weapon-filled match that quickly went off the rails right and stayed there.

The 45-minute match opened as Bayne and Statlander faced off, both with weapons at the ready. Bayne was busted open early on from a shot with a chair, but Persephone soon joined her in the ring and hit Statlander with a briefcase bearing Britt Baker’s name. The briefcase had pliers (not sure if that’s an appropriate dentistry tool) that was used on Statlander’s mouth as Aminata came down for the save.

Things continued to go back and forth as Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale, Thekla, Alex Windsor, Lena Kross, Harley Cameron, Julia Hart, and Jamie Hayter came into the match in that order. Blue took a bundle of light tubes to the head during her entrance from Statlander, while Nightingale came down with a backpack containing broken glass and LEGOs that were spread across the mat.

Eventually barbed wire-wrapped tables came into the ring, set up by Nightingale and Statlander. Divine Dominion ended up powerbombed into them, but the heels were able to take advantage when Statlander and Hayter began to argue. The finish came when Cameron dodged a mist attempt from Hart and put her in a single leg crab, while Statlander wrapped the barbed wire around her face in a crossface. Hart finally tapped to end the match.
