Backstage Update on Anthony Bowens’ AEW Contract Status

A new report from Fightful Select has a contract update for AEW veteran and former tag champ Anthony Bowens. According to the report, Bowens’ current AEW contract is due to expire early next month, on October 1.

At this time, Bowens’ contract reportedly hasn’t been extended, and it’s unknown if negotiations have begun on both sides regarding a possible renewal. The contract of Bowens’ former tag team partner in The Acclaimed, Max Caster, expires on the same day as well.

The Acclaimed are former AEW World Tag Team Champions and former World Trios Champions with Billy Gunn. More recently, Bowens has been part of The Opps stable.

Bowens last wrestled at AEW All In London 2026, where he and The Opps lost a tag team match against The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed & Zachary Wentz).
