Backstage Update on Santos Escobar’s WWE Future

Santos Escobar hasn’t wrestled for WWE since a Supershow in Mexico on July 27th, 2025 where he teamed with Angel and Berto in a loss to Mr. Iguana, Pagano & Psycho Clown. His disappearance has left fans wondering what his status with WWE is.

Fightful Select reports that Escobar’s WWE contract is set to end “very soon” and it does not look like he will be staying with the company after that. They note that was implied to them that the two sides had talked about an extension, but that they were not able to confirm that.

If he does end up departing WWE, he is expected to be in demand. He has wrestled as El Hijo del Fantasma in TNA, CMLL, and AAA in the past, as well as under the King Cuerno name in Lucha Underground.
