Baron Corbin Corrects Fan, Starts Social Media Meme

If you’re reading a site like this one, chances are you’re what we call a smart fan, and know a bit more about wrestling than just what’s presented on TV. Not every fan is like this, as Tom Pestock, the performer formerly known as Baron Corbin in WWE, found out recently on X.com.
Corbin was coming to the defense of Jonathan Coachman, who was promoting his SiriusXM wrestling show with Pestock. One fan chimed in that the Coach was nothing without WWE, to which Pestock responded that that had nothing to do with the Tweet, and made fun of the fact that the fan paid for a blue checkmark verification.
Another fan clearly took a cursory look at Pestock’s profile before trying to insult him with “Your favorite wrestler is Baron Corbin. You should reevaluate your decision making.”
Pestock’s Spartacus-like response?
I am Baron Corbin dumbass

It didn’t stop there. Other talents and fans adopted the statement quickly.
I am Baron Corbin!

Technically, he’s Bishop Dyer now, a name he based on the concept of a Bishop being an upgrade from a Baron, and the Dire Wolves from Game of Thrones. WWE, however, takes notice when one of their trademarks goes viral. So who knows what’s next? Only they can legally make “I am Baron Corbin dumbass” shirts, after all.
