Booker T Calls Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano a ‘Worked Shoot’

On the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T accused Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano on Saturday’s MVP Netflix MMA card of being a worked shoot. Rousey beat Carano in 17 seconds. You can check out some highlights below:
On Thinking It Was a Work
“I’ve seen a lot of fights in my life. And I’ve been in the wrestling business for 35 years now, so it’s three things I look for when it comes to combat. When I’m in certain places, especially when I’m watching something like this. And it’s a work, it’s a worked shoot, and it’s a shoot, okay?
“This was a worked shoot, alright? That was not real, that thing wasn’t real. I mean, it was real as far as the takedown goes. But everything after that, it was, ‘I’m ready, I’m ready. Let’s go home.’ It was one of those type of deals. And if you go back and watch it and study it, you’re gonna, you’re gonna come to the same consensus that I’m saying right now.”
On the Fight:
“That fight, that was not fair. That fight was not fair for the people, for Ronda Rousey to come back, and literally — that was like the biggest heist I’ve ever seen. I’m talking about since one of these Brinks jobs with Bonny and Clyde. Not since something that Dillinger, and Pretty Boy Floyd. I’m serious, that’s what this was. This is the biggest heist that I’ve seen, perhaps in the history of fighting here in the United States of America.”
On Why Make It So Short As a Work:
“You can’t expose it. If you do that [make it longer], you expose it. You do one thing outside of that, it’s exposed. Can’t do that.”
On the Mismatch:
“She threw one leg kick, takedown, literally. I mean, literally. Ronda Rousey mounted Gina Carano immediately. I mean, I mean, not just mounted, I mean, literally mounted. And then the arm was just happened to be there, it just happened to be laying in the right position.”
On What He Wants To See:
“Go back and watch the tape. That’s the only throwback to the MVP card. That’s the only match, the only fight on the card that was like that as well. Rousey coming back literally after calling wrestling fake, this was something. This was something.
“And if Ronda Rousey really want to prove herself and come back and fight someone, come back and fight someone who’s active, I’m not talking about fighting a top fighter or anything like that. But come back and fight someone that you can really hold your [own].”
