During a recent appearance on Barstool Sports’ Spittin’ Chiclets this week, WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar discussed getting tested early on during his initial WWE run in the early 2000s. Lesnar later noted how, at that time, you had to pay your dues in WWE, whereas the current era has “gotten a lot softer.”
When Lesnar was asked about being tested during his earlier run, he answered (via WrestlingNews.co), “Yeah, definitely. I was a shooter, an amateur guy. I had a lot of credentials to my name. Of course, I got tested along the way by the old timers. You have to pay your dues. Back then, you paid your dues, and you had to get your respect.”
Regarding how WWE is much different now in its current era, Brock Lesnar also noted that WWE no longer holds any “kangaroo courts,” likely referring to the notorious wrestlers’ courts. He commented, “It’s different now, obviously. Things have gotten a lot softer. There isn’t no more kangaroo courts. It’s different now, but I go there, I’m the old guy now.”
Well, it looks like Oba Femi might have to pay some dues of his own when he steps into the ring with Brock Lesnar. The two big heavyweights are scheduled to face off at WrestleMania 42 next month. Their storyline continued last night on WWE Raw, with Femi even sending Lesnar out of the ring.
The two-night premium live event takes place on Aprril 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
