The 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble started on a shocking note, with Bron Breakker being eliminated within seconds by the number-one entrant and the newest member of the Monday Night RAW roster, Oba Femi. The Badass entered the match at number two and was widely believed to be the top contender to win this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble.

However, before he could enter the ring, Bron was attacked by a masked man. The hooded figure sent Breakker crashing into the steel steps and then Superkicked and Stomped him before feeding him to The Ruler, who eliminated him instantly with a Clothesline.

While the promotion has yet to reveal the identity of the attacker, Dave Meltzer, in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, states that the angle was done because there is a belief internally that Seth Rollins will be ready to return in time to face Bron Breakker at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

Rollins picked up a shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth last October and was subsequently taken off television after Bron turned on him on the following RAW.

Meltzer stated that the mystery assailant angle was done to make everybody think that the person behind the mask was Seth. However, it’s not clear who was behind it. There have been suggestions that Grayson Waller was the person who attacked Bron. However, that has been neither confirmed nor denied. Waller did work a six-man tag team match alongside The New Day during a pre-show dark match.
