Who was the mystery person Randy Orton was speaking to over the phone on WWE Raw this week? WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed the issue on a recent edition of Busted Open Radio.

While logic would suggest Orton was likely speaking to his father, WWE Hall of Famer Cowboy Bob Orton, Bully Ray isn’t fully convinced. Speaking on Randy Orton’s phone call, Bully Ray stated (via WrestlingInc.com), “Logic would dictate that he’s talking to his dad, but if you go by the end of the phone call, he never says the word ‘Goodbye.’ He never says ‘Bye.’ No ‘I love you.'”

He continued, “It was a bit cold way to end the call. So yeah, I don’t think he was speaking to his dad either. But then, at the end of what he says to Cole, he reminds Cole that there’s more than one royal family, right? So who could he have been talking to?”

Bully Ray and co-host Dave LaGreca discussed other potential names Orton could’ve spoken to, including Batista, Triple H, and Ric Flair. LaGreca also suggested Orton could’ve been speaking to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has targeted Cody Rhodes in WWE before. Commenting on The Rock idea, Bully Ray said, “I love it.”

The identity of the person who called Orton on WWE Raw is still unknown. Regardless, Randy Orton will challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Title at WrestleMania 42. The premium live event takes place on April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. It will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
