Chad Gable Beats Rey Fenix To Retain Intercontinental Title On WWE Raw

Chad Gable had a fight on his hands to retain the WWE Intercontinental Title, facing Rey Fenix on WWE Raw. Monday night’s episode featured Fenix challenging Gable for the championship in a match that went almost 19 minutes and pushed Gable to the limit.

The back and forth bout pitted Fenix’s high flying offense against Gable’s technical skills and started off with the two feeling each other out a bit before they went to the floor when Fenix countered an ankle lock with and sent Gable over the top to the floor. Things quickly returned to the ring, where Fenix got several near falls during the match but Gable kept fighting back.

The champion ultimately picked up the victory when he was able to roll out of a Mexican Muscle Buster attempt and locked in the ankle lock. Fenix tried to escape but was unable to and ultimately tapped out.

You can see clips from the WWE Raw match below. Gable has been champion for 72 days, having won the title from Penta at WWE SummerSlam night two.
