In an interview with the Ariel Helwani Show (via Fightful), Channing Tatum spoke about working with Kevin Nash on the 2012 film Magic Mike, noting that they didn’t write Nash’s lines. Nash plays ‘Tarzan’ in the film and returned for the sequels Magic Mike XXL (2015) and Magic Mike’s Last Dance (2023).

Tatum said: “Me and Kevin, he’s like a big brother or an uncle. We didn’t have to write anything for him. He’s the most fascinating dude. Whatever your projection of Kevin Nash is, it will supersede your expectations. I remember the first day on Magic Mike, I hadn’t really hung out with him other than meeting him and I saw his audition tape, and I knew him from his career in WWE. Minute one, we go in and we’re sitting in this back kitchen area where all the ‘strippers’ get ready. He’s just casually in a conversation with Joe Manganiello about Marxism and Cubism and all these isms that I had no idea how to be in the conversation. They’re chopping it up about things you would never guess they would talk about or knew of. He’s a fascinating dichotomy. He truly is a giant gladiator of our time and also a true Renaissance man. I don’t know how to explain it [laughs]. He’ll talk to you until you’re blue in the face about some of the best wine he’s ever had. He’s a fascinating person and I love him to death. He is unapologetically himself. I’ll always cherish him.
