Chris Bey Thinks Leon Slater Is the ‘Right Now’ and ‘Future of the Business’

During a recent interview with Fightful at WrestleCon 2025 last month, TNA’s Chris Bey shared high praise for reigning TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. He stated the following on the champion:

“Oh, the X-Division champion, Leon Slater. He’s the right now of the business. He’s the future of the business. His Swanton 450 is to die for. It’s one of the most pretty moves and devastating moves in pro wrestling. He’s young, he’s respectful, he’s talented. He’s got all of the things you would want out of someone to put a company on your back. He’s the next Leon Slater, the first Leon Slater. That’s the guy that I’d be talking about for the rest of my days.”

Leon Slater has a huge challenge ahead at TNA Bound for Glory 2025. He will face WWE NXT’s Young OG, Je’Von Evans, with the title on the line, at the upcoming event. Bound for Glory is scheduled for Sunday, October 12 at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
