Chris Jericho On Getting ‘Hands On’ With New Film Dead Of Night, How He Got Involved

Chris Jericho is an executive producer on the horror-thriller Dead Of Night, and he recently spoke about his involvement in the movie. Jericho serves as EP on the Derek Sulek-directed film, which arrives in theaters on November 13th.

Jericho and Sulek appeared on the Paltrocast with Darren Paltrowitz and spoke about his work on the film. You can see highlights below:

On How He Got Involved In Dead Of Night:

“Derek and I met coincidentally—the hands of fate put us together. Derek was just finishing up the final edits for Dead of Night, and that’s when I came on as an executive producer to help tighten the screws with the actual picture itself. Then you look at the details of the promotion… the movie poster, the trailer, all that sort of stuff is a little bit of my forte. The final product is such a great piece of horror. It’s a thriller, it’s a little bit of a Scooby-Doo murder mystery.”

On His Work As an Executive Producer On the Film:

“This one was probably the most hands-on that I’ve been. When you work with me—and Derek can attest to this—I don’t just sit in the back and go, “That sounds good.” I have opinions and ideas. The movie was 85% done when I came in, and that’s what I like. I’m almost like a Winston Wolf type of thing where it’s like, ‘You guys got it. Here’s a couple of things I think can be a little better.'”

On Fozzy’s “I Know Evil” Ending Up At The End Credits:

“It was just a timing thing. We had just released “I Know Evil,” which sounds perfect for a horror movie. Even the vibe and groove of the song just really fit. It feels like we wrote it specifically for Dead of Night.”

On What’s Next For Him:

“For me, I’m always doing stuff. Dead of Night comes out next week, and Dexter as well. It’s going to be Chris Jericho week! Next week we are also opening for KISS in Vegas for their KISS Kruise Landlocked with Kuarantine, our non-makeup 80s KISS cover band. Then we go to Mexico City with Fozzy in December, and the Jericho Cruise is in a couple of weeks. There is always a lot of stuff going on in my world.”
