Chris Jericho Reflects On WWE Insults To Shaquille O’Neal, Stephanie McMahon

Chris Jericho has had beloved insults for his opponents over the years, and he recently reflected on ones against Shaquille O’Neal & Stephane McMahon. The AEW star recently appeared on SHAK Wrestling and during the conversation, Shakiel Mahjouri asked Jericho to rate some of his one-liners from WWE.

Among the lines he weighed in on was the segment with Shaquille O’Neal when he told the NBA great, “When I heard that the most dominant player in NBA history was guest hosting Raw, I assumed it was Kobe Bryant.” He recalled how great it was to work with Shaq and Shaq’s response being to lean down and kiss his forehead.

He also weighed in on his (in)famous line to Stephanie McMahon when Rhino was in the ring and he said, “I’m going to take care of that smelly, greasy, nasty animal. And I’ll get to you too, Rhino.” You can see the highlights below:

On His Segment With Shaq:

“It’s funny because that just came up on the reels, or whatever. And yeah, I mean Shaq was great because we’re toe-to-toe, and he’s literally like two feet taller than me. But this is Jericho not backing down, knowing that Big Shows in the back waiting to come out and back me up.

“And I just remember when I was like you said, I was expecting Kobe Bryant. And then he said something ‘Christina,’ and then he bends over and kisses my forehead. And it just got the best reaction. I remember afterwards we were just laughing. I said, ‘Why did you–?’ He goes, ‘I don’t know. I just thought it was the perfect time to do that.’ He was great. He actually came to AEW at the beginning of our start, and he’s always a great guy. Very respectful of the business, and I remember he was just asking me like, ‘How did I do?’ I said, ‘You did a great job.’ ‘I didn’t let you down, did I?’ I was like, ‘Dude, you did awesome.’ Like, he gets it. He’s a good dude.”

On His Segment With Rhino & McMahon:

“What was one line out of about 10 lines in a row that we were just lambasting Stephanie, Rock and I. That that’s a classic segment. Stephanie was a great foil for sure, because she was so into whatever you wanted to dish out, she would take it. And she would get you back too. But she was a great character, for sure.”
