Ciocco’s AEW Collision Review 11.7.26
SICKOS! It’s Saturday, you know what that means! Yes, if you guessed it meant Collision will be LIVE on the Chris Jericho Rock n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, then you are 100% correct! Taking place from just outside of Miami, Florida on the Norwegian Jewel, tonight’s Collison the Atlantic will feature two big matches for all of us to enjoy!
After coming up short at WrestleDream, Tommaso Ciampa gets another shot at Andrade El Idolo and his National Title. The fourth round in the Motor City Machine Guns and FTR series will take place tonight, with MCMG up 2-1, while former TBS Champion Persephone will face Mina Shirakawa. All of this and, of course, so much more in store for us tonight!
So, how is everyone doing on this Saturday Night? The appearance and feel of November weather in Western Pennsylvania is complete. And I, for one, will never complain about that. I also completed the entire Batman animated film run and, I have to say, I can’t wait for the second episode coming in December.
But enough about me and enough about you, let’s get ready to set sail across the seas!

We’re cruising around the seven seas, as Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness, and Paul Wight are here in Hawaiian shirts!
The host of the Rock & Rager is in action to open the show!
Jericho vs. ROH Six-Man Champion Blake Christian w/Jay Lethal
Jericho looks like he visited the Duke Droese clothing collection. Christian attacks Jericho from behind at the bell and Lethal helps to choke him behind Aubrey’s back. Jericho catches a leaping Christian with a DVD, and he takes the outfit off to reveal a Taco Cat Hawaiian shirt! I guess that also explains what the fans are chanting lol. Jericho from the top and he takes out Christian and Lethal with a crossbody. He grabs what looks like a bunch of 7-11 cups superimposed together and beats both guys up with it. He gives his necklace to a girl at ring side, but Blake counters Jericho on the apron with a post assisted Sliced Bread. PK from Blake and that will take us to the break.
Christian is in control during the break and, being the edgelord, he flips the fans off. Jericho counters as we return proper and chops Blake before heading up top with the ten punches and Rana. More Jericho chops but he misses the dropkick as Blake holds on to the ropes. Christian with his own Lionsault for a two. Christian mocks Jericho and hits him with a corner splash. Christian looking for a springboard splash, Jericho looks to counter, but Christian waits him out and hits it anyway. Jericho counters with a jawbreaker, and we get chops from both parties. Christian with a snapmare into a dropkick to the neck. Blake looking Area Code Jones, but Jericho catches his legs and looks for the Walls. Blake shoves him off, Lethal Injection, NO, Judas Effect, NO, Lethal Injection connects for Christian for a two. Blake springboards back into the ring, but Jericho intercepts him and applies the Walls, and Christian taps out immediately.
WINNER: Jericho, Just Jericho!
TIME: 10:45
THOUGHTS: A fine opener. It was only fitting that the man who is behind the Rock & Rager would not only appear on the show but would also pick up a win after he came out on the losing side of his recent feud with Nick Wayne.
RATING: ***1/4
Nick Wayne wants to let us know that he beat Jericho twice, and he is taking over the cruise at sea. Wayne is walking the streets, and he asks a girl if she has a boyfriend and if he defeated Jericho. I’m sure the girl is like WTF lol.
Lexi Nair is in the middle of the ring and she introduces the NEW LE-V-EL! She wants to know if they think they are being manipulated by Swerve to be on his side in the Texas Deathmatch. Austin Creed says first thing is first, Swerve’s problem was with Bandido, and they were going to stay out of it, that is until Bandido put his hands on his best friend Kofi. Now, not only are they going to win the Trios’ Titles back, but they will get their pound of flesh. Kofi says this isn’t the match that we wanted, and they are scared. They’re not scared of Hangman Page, Brody King, or Bandido’s bitch ass. They are scared about what they will have to become in order to beat them at their own game. If you want to do it like this, then let’s do it. Creed says next week, you will see them do something that they aren’t used to, and they were hoping they wouldn’t have to go to. This Wednesday in Utah, they are going to a NEW…LEVEL!
Well, shit.
We get highlights from both the Women’s and Men’s Blood and Guts matches from this past week’s Dynamite.
The guys run down the rest of the card for tonight. Round four between the Motor City Machine Guns and FTR is coming up, next!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
It’s time for some more tag team goodness!
Round Four of the Best-of-five series: Motor City Machine Guns (2) vs. FTR (1)
Fans are going for both teams as the bell rings. Harwood and Sabin to start. Harwood takes Shelley to the corner with some chops, but Chris won’t back down much like Tom Petty. Shelley is in, and they hit a double team back body drop. Wheeler comes in, and FTR take the fight to the floor. Shelley ends up on the fans side of the barricade, but he is able to fight off both members of FTR. Shelley looks to get back into the ring, but Wheeler hits a Dragon Screw in the ropes. Wheeler attacks the knee as the commentators say Stoke is angrier than usual. Harwood looks for a figure-four, but Shelley kicks him into the FTR corner, so Wheeler tags back in and goes after the knee of Shelley. Shelley kicks away Wheeler, and Harwood tags in. He tries to stop Sabin from tagging in, but it’s of no use, and Sabin enters with a crossbody block to both members. Sabin takes it to both Wheeler and Harwood and ground and pounds Cash. Dax is back, we get standing switches, and Sabin back body drops Wheeler to the mat. Harwood takes Sabin to their corner, and the duo hit a Doomsday Device to Chris! Sabin kicks out at two, as FTR go out and beat up on both Guns as we hit the break.
Sabin does his best to fight off FTR by himself as we return. Stuff Piledriver from FTR, but Sabin kicks out at two. Harwood heads to the floor and beats up on Shelley some more, Wheeler misses a corner splash, and Sabin hits a Tornado DDT. Shelley is back, but Sabin is restricted by FTR, and Wheeler fights with Alex on the apron. Roll-up by Sabin for a two, Harwood fires back with the Sheer Drop Brainbuster for a two. A-E-DUB chants as Harwood comes off the top but Sabin gets his foot up. Dax misses two elbow drops and takes out to Alex. Shelley takes it to both Cash and Dax, and Harwood gets Kojima style chops. Shelley sends Harwood into the corner and avoids Dax strikes in route to a crucifix for a two. Shelley is feeling it now as he lights up Harwood with chops. Wheeler in the ring, Shelley with an enziguri to Harwood. Sabin in, but Wheeler sends him to the floor. Two Dragon Screws on the mat by FTR and Dax locks in the Sharpshooter. Sabin is back with a thrust kick to break the hold, Wheeler is back in and they crash to the floor. Shelley uses Brandon Martinez to do the rope run lol. Border City Stretch by Sabin and Shelley! Harwood turns Shelley over, but Shelley makes the save. THIS IS AWESOME chants as Stoke grabs the foot of Shelley. In the confusion, Harwood rolls up Shelley with the tight and FTR steal it!
WINNERS: FTR (Two victories apiece)
TIME: 15:50
THOUGHTS: Another amazing match between two incredible tag teams. It’s very cliche to go along with the FIGHT FOREVER chants and what not, but if these teams DID want to FIGHT FOREVER, I most certainly would not be opposed to that!
RATING: ****1/4
Video package for our World Heavyweight Title match next week at Full Gear between Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher.
Arkady Aura reads the introduction for Nick Wayne that Justin Roberts would ordinarily. Nigel insists that Arkady is swooning over him, but I call bullshit lol.
Nick Wayne vs. Marcus Mathers
Wayne and Mathers lock-up at the bell, with Nick taking Marcus to the corner and he gets some cheap shots in. Standing Sliced Bread from Wayne for a two. Nick taunts Marcus and lands some kicks to the back. Mathers hits the ropes and pulls off a dropkick and a flying clothesline. Wayne cuts corners to get the advantage back and hits the reverse flying elbow. Wayne follows Mathers to the ropes, but Marcus kicks him in the face and sends him to the floor. Mathers to the apron with a PK so powerful it sent Nick’s gum flying lol. Off to the break we go!
Wayne blows kisses to the crowd as we return. Mathers gets the boot up, but Wayne slaps him. That pisses off Mathers, who hits a series of clotheslines into a scoop slam. Running forearm shiver, they go rolling and Marcus hits a kick to the side of the head. Mathers to the top, but he takes too long and Wayne hits a step-up Enziguri. Wayne with the Superplex! Nick misses Wayne’s World, forward roll from Mathers for a two. Marcus with a Destroyer and he heads back to the top. Wayne gets his knees up as Mathers comes down, Wayne connects with Wayne’s World and he wins it!
WINNER: Nick Wayne
TIME: 8:20
THOUGHTS: This was a fun little jaunt. Mathers has been around for quite some time, and it was nice to see him on AEW TV for the first time in two years. Wayne was winning this match, as he should after being Jericho twice, in case you haven’t heard.
RATING: ***1/2
Post-match, Wayne wants to let us know that he is the Captain of the Sea and that he beat Chris Jericho. Instead of pyro, he gets the boat’s foghorn instead lol.
Video package for ROH/AEW enhancement talent Brody Booker. Apparently, he is Survivor right now, but he wants the biggest and the baddest that AEW has to offer. Well, okay, then.
It’s time for some Death Riding!
The Death Riders vs. Shane Taylor Promotions
It’s Moxley/Garcia/Kidd for the Death Riders/.STP attack before the bell and lay in a beating. Moxley is like fuck that and he hits a scoop slam on Carlie Bravo. Tag to Gabe Kidd, who hits a powerslam for a two. Kidd uses his head as a battering ram against Bravo in the corner. Tag to Garcia, he hits a corner charge and goes up for mounted punches. I can’t believe I’m hearing OH, DANNY GARCIA chants. Garcia with Saito Suplexes to both Bravo and Shawn Dean. Garcia believes he can do the same thing to Shane Taylor, but to the surprise of anyone with one working brain cell, that isn’t happening. STP bounce the Death Riders from the ring and to the floor as we hit the break.
Taylor is lording over Garcia and ridiculing him as we return. GARCIA GETS TAYLOR UP FOR A SAITO SUPLEX! HOLY SHIT chants follow. Garcia tags in Moxley and we get a slug fest between Jon and Shane. Taylor smacks Moxley in the face, so Jon bits his forehead. Moxley goes for corner punches, but Bravo and Dean are back. No problem, as Moxley hits a 2-for-1 DDT! Tag to Kidd, and the Death Rider train is a-rolling! Kidd gets his acceleration to PEAK before taking out Taylor with a lariat. The fight goes to the floor, leaving Kidd and Taylor in the ring. Kidd headbutts the corner, but Christian XO gets on the apron. Ordinarily, this would distract any normal male, but Gabe not being normal barks at her. This allows STP to triple team Kidd. It ends with a big splash from the top from Taylor, but Kidd is out at two. Garcia and Moxley are back, they fight to the floor, and Kidd hits a Fisherman’s Buster for the win!
WINNERS: The Death Riders
TIME: 9:50
THOUGHTS: And the most exciting feud on Collision continues! The Death Riders getting another win over STP is a soft way for them to beat somebody since they consistently get beaten up by the Cut every week.
RATING: ***
Moxley has the mic post-match. The odds are looking good for them, but he doesn’t care if it is 10-1, 100-1, or 1,000-1, Moxley doesn’t care. Whether it is in Phoenix or right here on the boat, they are going to make them earn it.
Mercedes Mone is here! She wants to know where Marina Shafir is. Did she jump ship because she knew Mone was here? Mone embarrassed her last Wednesday, and she is afraid to show her face, and she wants Moxley to get his bitch on a leash! Moxley says he won’t take that personally, he knows Mone is flustered because she is around Danny Garcia. Heck, his own mother gets flustered around Danny. But that is no excuse for her foul language! And if there is one person that he wouldn’t want to piss off is Marina, so good luck with that.
Switchblade Jay White appears. He bows to Mone (as would I), and he walks down the ramp. The rest of the Cut approaches from around the ring and the beatdown is on. Mone claps and enjoys what she is seeing. White has the mic and he wants to know where Johnny Boy is. He tells the fans he will talk as much as he wants so enjoy it. You want Anarchy, we ARE anarchy, and we will take everything from you that we are owed. Someone plays Mone’s theme before White hits the Bladerunner on Moxley, which prompts White’s theme to go on lol.
My heart is torn when Mina Shirakawa and Persephone face each other, next!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone vs. Mina Shirakawa
The bell rings and we get a lock-up to start. Arm drag by Persephone into an arm lock, but Mina is back to her feet. WOMEN’S WRESTLING chants as Mina applies a double wrist lock. Hammerlock counter from Persephone and she punches the shoulder of Mina. Mina with a drop toehold into a headlock. Persephone with a sidewalk slam but she misses a stomp on Mina’s hand. Leg sweep takedown and a kick to the head from Mina. Mina counters a hammer throw with a Tiaras and a bridge for a two. Persephone does the matrix move to avoid a lariat, but Mina kicks her in the gut lol. Mina favors her arm while Persephone favors her knee, but “Sephy” is able to get Mina onto her shoulder for an electric chair drop. That will take us to the break.
Persephone has Mina grounded with an arm lock when we return. Mina gets to her feet, but Persephone stays in control. Mina goes around the world and plants Persephone on her face. Running sling blade is followed by a crossbody from the top for a two. Mina goes back to kicking at the bad knee of Persephone, but she misses Dragon Screw. Persephone with a big forearm for a two as she yells at the fans. German Suplex, no, Dragon Screw by Mina! Mina gives us a WOO, but she gets kicked out of the figure-four. Roll-up from Persephone for a two. Kicks from Mina, but Persephone throws herself into a lariat. Mina connects with some kicks, but a third one is blocked, and Persephone hits the German for a two. Persephone has a bitch fit, Mina counters Persephone with a second rope DDT. Mina again to the top with a DDT from the top rope! The cover, but Persephone is out of bounds. Persephone kicks Mina away but eats a back elbow for her trouble. Persephone grabs Mike Posey (lucky guy) but it allows Persephone the chance to trip up Mina. She hits the mat, and Persephone hits the Frog Splash for the win.
WINNER: Persephone
TIME: 12:10
THOUGHTS: A really good match between these two. I keep hoping and wanting a win for Mina on AEW television, but it just never happens. At least she lost to a current Champion and a former TBS Champion, I guess.
RATING: ***1/2
Post-match, Persephone keeps beating up on Mina. She looks for the Razor’s Edge, but Queen Aminata runs down for the save! Persephone abandons the ring and keeps saying THAT TITLE IS MINE!
Tony tells us something is happening in the back. We cut to the outside (not the back), and we see the Cut standing around looking at blood on the ground. Lexi Nair lets us know that Juice Robinson was taken to hospital. Jay White ridicules Lexi for asking if they think the Death Riders were behind this before picking up the fork that was left in the blood. He says they will find Juice and make sure that orange juice is freshly squeezed.
Our main event is heading our way. next!
BREAK IN PROGRESS!
Tony runs down matches for next week. When we get to the Men’s tag team title match, we get an inset promo from Jake Doyle and Mark Davis. They beat up the Bucks and took their dignity, and next week at Full Gear, they are taking the titles back to the Don Callis Family! Tony continues running down the Full Gear card and what we can expect on this week’s Dynamite/Collision three-hour block.
AEW National Title Match: Andrade El Idolo (C) vs. Tommaso Ciampa
HOW YOU KNOW chants as the bell followed by PSYCHO KILLER chants. Ciampa wants Aubrey to check Andrade’s pants, but he uses this distraction to hit a dropkick. He tries to take the pants off himself, but Andrade is back to his feet. We get four collisions in the middle of the ring followed by forearm strikes. Andrade with a springboard back elbow to Ciampa. It’s time for the pants to come off, but Andrade only gets to his belt before Ciampa attacks from behind. Andrade initiates the Three Amigos for a two to EDDIE chants. Well, kind of, it sounded a bit tepid. With that we are heading to the break.
Both men are trading from the top rope as we return. Ciampa looking Air Raid Crash, but Andrade sneaks out and hits a Sunset Bomb for a two. Ciampa rolls to the apron, Andrade looks to suplex him back in, Ciampa traps him in a front face guillotine. Ciampa looking Willow’s Bell, but Andrade with a powerslam through the ropes. Back in the ring, Andrade misses the first moonsault to hit a standing one for a two. That reminds me of someone else who does that, but for some reason I can’t remember the name. Ciampa stalks Andrade to the corner with a big boot and this time he gets the avalanche Air Raid Crash for a two. Ciampa goes back to the pants, and I don’t know if he should. I mean, he couldn’t even pin the pants at WrestleDream. Ciampa looking Powerbomb, Andrade lands on his feet, they trade reversals, and Andrade shoves Ciampa into Aubrey in the corner. Andrade hits the DM, but Aubrey is still out. Ciampa punches Andrade in the balls and hits the running knee strike. Aubrey is slow to the pin, but Andrade kicks out at two. Ciampa lowers the knee pad, but he runs into Dos Muerte! Hammerlock DDT from the Champion but the Challenger is out at two! Andrade lowers HIS kneepad and scores with a knee strike, but Ciampa kicks out at 2.8! Ciampa rolls up Andrade for a two. Dos Muerte from Andrade, but the DM is reversed into a sit-down pin from Ciampa, and he is the new Champion!
WINNER: Tomasso Ciampa (AND NEW!)
TIME: 12:15
THOUGHTS: A great main event that was awesome from bell to bell. It didn’t hurt that the right man won this match, as Ciampa had been losing titles matches hand over fist, and Andrade doesn’t need the belt with his title shot guarantee in his back pocket.
RATING: ****
Post-match, Ciampa takes the title and heads into the crowd, as we see him celebrate with his daughter. Wholesome moment from a Psycho Killer! And with that, we are done!
